Cambodia news, October 2024 – 6 Countries, 1 Visa? Phnom Penh Pub Street! Gumball 300 Pays! #ForRiel

I really hope the milti country visa is something that Cambodia joins into. When I am next able to visit I will be coming with a friend. My wife wants all of us to go to Tailand for a bit while over there because her sister has never been out of Cambodia and both my wife and I want to show both my friend and her sister more than just home countries.

Im in Seim Reap and you totally missed talking about the crazy festival that was going on just a few blocks from Pub street. This place is off the hook!!! It reminds me of 1990s Daytona Beach MTV spring break.

Also, Angkor Watt was packed today. Was amazing how many people dressed up despite the heat. Beautiful people, beautiful land!

Wishful thinking for 1 visa for 6 countries. Won't happen. It negates the advantage that 1 country would have over the others.

The 1 for 6 visa is already proposed for 5 years now. So, let's see if it really happens soon. But of course, times changed and both countries (Thailand and Cambodia) has new governments now. Also a lot of things already improved recently in both countries in terms of visa. The biggest improvement so far is that Cambodia got rid of that ugly huge one pager passport sticker and now uses small qr code stickers which has only takes a 1/6 of a passport page 😀.
As everybody knows, currently it's quite easy to get a all year visa for Cambodia with some over the counter money. I'm curious if this will be still possible if the 1 for 6 visa really comes.

I used the E online application on arrival 3 months ago , some on my plane did not, when we all went through immigration, there seemed no difference, between those that did , not , and those that had filled out the form , everyone treated same same?

Having been to both Thailand and Cambodia, I can say wholeheartedly, I much prefer Cambodia, so much so that I obtained my retirement visa here and have put a deposit on a condo. Cambodia deserves much more visitors than it is currently getting. Everything about the country is superb, weather, food, people, culture, health system and cost of living. And cafe society here is rich and vibrant. Love to the people.

However, I have a question for you about something I didn’t pay much attention to in the past but experienced after living in Chiang Mai: is there a smoky season in Angkor Wat/Siem Reap? I know similar issues occur in Vietnam and Laos, but I’d like to know how bad it gets in Siem Reap if you have any information. Thanks a lot! 🙏
