Thank you for posting a DCL video! I love these the most since we definitely go on a Disney cruise more than Disney Land
This is perfect
Great video! I was disappointed that Disney made the change to Castaway Club, I was at a Gold Level, but since I hadn't cruised in the 5 year limit, I lost my gold status. Not really a huge deal, I just wanted the next level gift. : )
10:21 Great video! My issue is that the tea party always sells out before we can get tickets — every single year. Boo!
Doing our second Disney cruise in 2025 on the Treasure. Last Disney cruise was in 2016 on the Fantasy. We have done several Royal Caribbean cruises in between- doing a New Year’s Royal Caribbean cruise on the Odyssey before doing The Treasure- I do prefer leaving out of Cape Liberty than Port Canaveral only because it is so much closer to PA:)
Gotta love Aunt Susan! 😂
Hi AJ and team, love this video! do all ships cater for guest with disabilities, or are there some better than others. I didn’t see anything in the videos that referenced cruises for disabilities. Or do you have a separate video. I am in the planning stage ideally for a Caribbean cruise.
Do most disney cruises not stop at ports bc I usually see a few destinations available?
Concierge is not a cheat
Entirely too expensive for the experience that we had. But we did see Cinderella, so that was cool I guess.
If you're not willing to dress up you should not go to the fancy restaurants, period. Everyone dressing up is part of the experience.
Messaging services like iMessage, WhatsApp and Facebook messenger work on Disney Wi-Fi for free even two people back home
I am currently reading The Imagineering Story and it is fantastic.
Is it weird to want to do a solo cruise with Disney?
OMG DISNEYFOODBLOG THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH FOR RELEASING A VIDEO ON A SUNDAY. Sorry I just saw this video while scrolling through YouTube
They are also more expensive because they don't have a casino
Will Disney do a world cruise (or an extended cruuse)?
WiFi question: we have a son with autism who watches YouTube, switching to new videos frequently. Can the premium WiFi handle that? would love to take another Disney cruise!
Hi AJ!
I am a librarian from Maine and highly recommend Monica Wood’s “How to Read a Book”. It takes place in Maine and Monica Wood is a Maine author! The New York Times said that it is “a reminder that goodness, and books, can still win in this world.” It is a heartwarming story without being too sappy. I really enjoyed it and think it is the perfect vacation read.
I know im not dumb 13 ships but there’s 5 in the fleet now October 2024 3 more being added right now and 4 more being added but that doesn’t add up to 13 that adds up to 12 so where’s that extra ship coming from
Also – if you decide to use your cellphone provider, data is by the day as long as you text a certain number for each provider. Once you do that, any time you go outside the U.S., it’s kicks in and it’s only $10 a day for when you use data.
Concierge on DSL is a lot like The Retreat on Celebrity.
Reading suggestions: 20,000 leagues under the sea; Journey to the Centre of the Earth; Around the World in 80 Days; Treasure Island. In other words classic travel based adventures (most of which are the basis for at least one Disney movie).
I read around the world in 80days for the first time whilst travelling by ship from the UK down to northern Spain – really matched the nautical travel vibe. As a bonus those are all lapsed copyright works so ebook editions can be found for free.
One book I am currently reading an enjoying is “Horse” by Geraldine Brooks. It initially revolves around an enslaved groom named Jarrett and his connection with a legendary race horse. It also has modern day perspectives with 2 other characters who are trying to piece the past together and are easy to fall in love with!
Need a book to last the entire cruise?
"Watership Down" by Richard Adams.
"Dune" by Frank Herbert
"Stranger in a Strange Land" by Robert A Heinlein.
Do people Disney Bound on cruises?
Oh cool more new ships in the coming up years, gives me more time because I want to go on a maiden voyage so bad!
Just booked our first cruise a week ago!!
Thank you so much for this, and all your videos! I'd like to learn more about the 'tween club'. My kiddo is turning 11 and will be too old for the kids club. 😔
Going on a cruise next month. Hope I don't mess up the Questionnaire. I have looked up a Youtube video but it still scares me..
Would we be able to upload youtube videos using the onboard wifi?
I'm going on a 7 night merry time Christmas cruise on the fantasy in Dec. What night is pirate night?????????? Thank you ❤
What about Disney Band + ? Are most guests using them or is it sporadic?
Recently (Feb 2024) went on the Wish with my husband and was so disappointed. The adult pool is nothing but an oversized hot tub and so crowded and the adult area was dirty. The real adult hot tub was under the water slide so while they had a sign quiet area all you heard was the screams. The rotational dining rooms were so heavily packed that my chair was constantly being bumped when a waiter went by. Also for the Arendelle show you could not turn around to see the show in your chair as you would block the waiters. There is no alternative to the rotational dining after 6PM as they close the buffet and fast foods by the pool. We did not want to go to the Marvel show again (they had service issues when we went) so we ate early – delicious mexican food at the pool. The clubs are too small so we could not find a seat in the evening. They put The Bayou loung in the middle of two walkways so you had constant noise and foot traffic. They need to design the ships better. If you have children, there were plenty of character meet and greets. We are DVC and love Disney but do not love their ships for the price you pay.
Books – Here come the girls by Milly Johnson. One of my all time favourites, though more enjoyable if you're 40+ like the characters, who are all on a cruise! A group of four British life-long friends on a European cruise. (TY for all the info too!)
READ THIS IF YOU'RE CRUISING WITH AN ECV! We sailed our first cruise ever on the Fantasy last month, and while most of the experience was phenomenal, there was one thing we found to be extremely stressful. Our mom uses an ECV to get around, and we found it to be difficult to find enough space on the elevators more than half the time. This was especially difficult on our embarkation day. The ship does the muster drill with all guests at the same time. They also let out all guests at the same time, and the sailaway party happens shortly after. (Can you see where I'm going with this?) It took us no less than TWENTY MINUTES to get onto an elevator because the entire ship (literally) was let out of their muster stations and going to the elevators at the exact same time. This was extremely frustrating, stressful, and NOT a good way to start out our first cruise ever. If you're traveling with someone in a wheelchair or ECV, be prepared for this and ask if you can be released WAY early from the drill to avoid the chaos. They only allowed us about 30 seconds of headway, which was not nearly enough time.
Hi DFB, I went to your site , used the forward slash "cruiseplanning" and nothing shows up. I put cruise, cruise planning etc. in the search but no success. How can I get the cruise planning guide?
