The Große Ahornboden is a fascinating jewel in the heart of the Karwendel. The 1000-year history of alpine farming has created a unique landscape in this remote valley in the middle of the Karwendel Nature Park. 500 cattle graze here every year on the Engalm, an alpine village with a 1000-year history.
