Bremerhaven is a port city on Germany’s North Sea coast. The German Maritime Museum at the Old Harbour details the national and regional history of shipping and navigation. Its collection includes the Bremen cog, a restored medieval vessel. Nearby, the WWII submarine Wilhelm Bauer has been converted into a museum. The German Emigration Center is dedicated to the history of those who left Bremerhaven for America.
We visit the Bremerhaven Zoo is located next to the river Weser and exhibits mainly species which live in the water or in northern environments; exceptions are, for instance, chimpanzees and White-headed marmosets.
We take a trip on the River Weser Ferry Traveling from the Butjading region or the Weser Marsh to Bremerhaven you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Bremerhaven skyline, breathe in a little sea air and even visit the onboard café. Hi Ian, the four animals standing one on top of the other are the „Bremer Stadtmusikanten“. – See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Town_Musicians_of_Bremen. The Statue is definitely located in the city of Bremen itself, not Bremerhaven. The two cities belong together in terms of administration, but there is some distance inbetween. About ten years ago, we visited Bremen and were standing in front of the statue. Regards from Southern Hesse ! 😃
