Hey everyone,
I’m planning 10 day trip to Madeira, and a 7–8 day thru-hike in Madeira (Portugal) this spring. I’ll be carrying a 50L Osprey Atmos pack with all equipments, all of that under 15kg/33Lb. We’re planning to do the Pico do Areeiro to Pico Ruivo section as part of the route.

I don’t have a ton of hiking experience, especially not in very steep terrain, so I’m looking for boots that are:
• Lightweight
• Waterproof
• Supportive/stable for rocky and slippery terrain
• Comfortable for long days on trail

I’m strongly considering the Salomon X Ultra 4 Mid GTX, but I’m open to other suggestions too.

-Does anyone have experience using these on longer hikes, or in wet/mountainous terrain like Madeira?

Would love to hear any pros/cons or alternatives you’d recommend!

Thank you
