Exploring Hamburg, Germany: Iconic Landmarks and Hidden Gems
in April 2024 we took a trip to Hamburg Germany interesting the weather in April and November cuz we went again in November was quite similar those was a little warmer toward the end of April we started our journey in idad one of the districts of Hamburg and took the S5 a light rail train down to the hoffen of the seaport this area is where many of the shipping lanes are located from there we took a Hop On Hop off bus tour which I highly recommend in because these to all the famous landmarks cultural spots and musty attractions so the pictures I’ll share represent some of the things we saw along the Route well I don’t have all the names of all the landmarks some sites stood out though like an old public restroom that had been converted to a restaurant was featured on the tour there’s a great story behind it a little too long to tell you here we also saw numerous Bridges and canals which Hamburg is famous for and then there were some of the bigger landmarks like the philarmonic we took time out to explore on foot jumped off the bus um just probably a couple of stops before we got back to the hoffen and walked up around through some of the parks historical Parks um then we got down to the hufen and we were looking in the shop windows and just immersing ourselves in the culture now on our second trip to Hamburg in November we skipped the Hop On Hop off bus tour and opted for the light rail but went straight down because it was a Sunday morning to visit the fish market and a major part of the city’s charm the fish market is located along the huffin and features rows of rows of booths and stands where vendors sell everything from clothes to cheeses to you guest to hit fish and everything in between what makes this market so unique is the Lively atmosphere with criers standing outside their stalls shouting about their Specialties and inviting people to come take a look we spent about two hours wandering through the fish market chatting with vendors and sampling their goods one vendor convinced us to try some of his fish and of course we couldn’t resist bought a few samples to take back home with us and although we missed out on the smoked eel it’s something I’m going to have to go back and get on my next trip there but we did score some amazing cheeses Rebecca found this great deal of quality cheeses probably six or seven different assorted ones for I think €1 and the price was at least 30 so really good deal and we loved them and left some with the family at the end of our visit we treated ourselves to fish sandwiches you guessed it one was made with tiny shrimp and the other was the famous fet of white fish with a white sauce both were incredible and made the cold ring any day completely worth it now after finishing up the trip to the fish Mark we hopped back on the train enjoyed a beer at the station and return to where we were staying if you’re planning a trip to Germany I highly recommend if if it’s on your route stop in Hamburg visit Hamburg and if you’re there on a Sunday morning do not miss the fish market now it closes about 9:00 a.m. and all the people who were finishing up the night life down at the at the St Paul district end up at the fish market for breakfast Hamburg is filled with cultural attractions in Rich history one of the oldest cities in Germany two thumbs up for Hamburg it is a must SE destination and oh one more note the airport at Hamburg I loved it from the ease of entry and exit to baggage handling and getting to your gate and everything it was seamless Hamburg earns two thumbs up for its Airport hey if you like this video like And subscribe and go back to the channel and check out our video on Munich and look for some upcoming videos in cities like nurg and reinberg and Berlin
