Yagaji Campground, Okinawa, Japan
While backpacking through Okinawa, we searched for a seaside campsite where we could enjoy a beautiful sunrise — and we found it at Yagaji Campground.
Since we were backpacking, we had to keep our gear minimal.
We set up camp with a North Face HIM35 tent and cooked dinner using our trusty Trangia stove.
On the way to the site, we stopped by a local market and picked up some Japanese wagyu beef, which we grilled for dinner.
After the meal, we relaxed with a cigar — a perfect end to the evening.
As promised, the sunrise was stunning.
But the heat came on fast and strong, so we had to pack up and leave as soon as the sun was fully up.

Reading/seeing stories from places I’ve never camped…or seen before is truly my favorite part of this sub. Cool shots.
