Brunei Is Not What I Expected | Indian in Brunei
Thank you bye bye take care your name is Kashi Kashi yes Kashi really do you know there is a one city the name is Kashi or it is a Varanasi that is the city name in India that is your name so you are in India Kashi in Brunei you are Kashi Kashi so thank you oh Trimakashi Trimakashi good morning and welcome welcome back to new vlog. I am Ansh and right now I am in Bandar Seri Begoun, the capital and largest city of Brunei country. And today is my last day from this Brunei country. And finally I am going to fly to my home country India. And I think it must have been almost one month’s trip. Including four countries which I tried to show you all. Starting from Thailand then from Thailand I went to Myanmar Burma. I spent around seven days in Thailand. Then from there I flew for next 24 hours only in Malaysia. So, in a way, my Malaysia was just a transit and from Malaysia I took a flight to Brunei, the capital city of Brunei, Bandarseri Bega, and today I am finally flying back to India from here. So, overall, it was almost a one-month trip. So, in this video, I will share with you my overall experience of this one-month trip. So, it is around 10:30 in the morning and our Sir Jitan Sir and his entire family are joining us again . So, good morning Sir, first of all and thank you, good morning. How are you? Just absolutely first class. So, friend, I think first of all I would like to thank Sir and his entire family. I think, out of all the Brunei I have travelled , one-third of it is just because of them, to be honest. Mostly, I walked and showed you all, especially the city center, the main down area, you can call it the monkey area, we explored all of that and Aarav Bhai is still busy playing games, even in the morning he remains in the game, hi Aarav how are you, I am good, you are good, what are you playing now, okay that’s your favorite, always, yes as usual, or friend, Meenakshi Ma’am also talks less, I think. But thanks, thanks. So, right now, friends, we are actually leaving for breakfast etc. and Sir also has his office, so he took out some time for that. I think in the entire Brun, whenever you come, you will get to see only two seasons. Either it will be summer i.e. sunny and rainy. When does rainy season start here, sir? Your rainy season will start from the end of September, then it continues till September, October, November, December. Well, it rains a lot for about four months, not just a little bit, but for weeks. Okay, continuously , oh, so at that time, the temperature drops a little. Yes, actually, the temperature isn’t that much in the mountains because the equator sky is clear, so it creates a little more heat. Yes, because the temperature is the same, 32-34. Yes, but it feels more sunny. Actually, it feels sunny because you get direct sunshine. But these are clouds, you’ll see a lot of clear air here . I think, in terms of air pollution , you won’t see it at all in Brunei. The sky is almost clear everywhere, and there are cars here, and I think throughout the video, you might have noticed that you won’t see any smoke coming out of their vehicles. So, in terms of air pollution, I think, and noise pollution are also almost zero. Just like I explained to you in Bhutan. So, this is their traffic control police. It’s a good thing, man. I think I’ve only seen them twice. I think I was just seeing them today, and I noticed them one day in the afternoon. Randomly, sometimes they come on the road and check if you have your proper vehicle license, your license, your vehicle papers, which, as usual, we also follow automatically. So, they check like this. But they’re very polite, very soft, their normal process: they ‘ll ask for documents and check them already. And by the way, whenever you travel to these countries, you might have noticed that they always keep the live camera on, right above their clothes. So, if you or they make a mistake, everything is already being recorded live. So, man, this is the Delhi court. Yes, it’s written as Delhi Darbar Restaurant Catering, the restaurant where we ‘ve actually come for breakfast, etc. So, I thought about it here first. I’ve already arrived, and the first day we met Sir, we came to eat at this very restaurant. So, the area I’m staying in is called Sengurung or something like that. It should be displayed. You’ll find numerous Indian restaurants here for dining. In case you stay here, I think mostly if you check Google Maps, you’ll find around 40 or 50 plus Indian restaurants for dining. You’ll find proper North Indian and South Indian cuisine . So, this is what the restaurant looks like from the inside. Here’s the rest of the interior. If you want to come here, the reception is right in front. This is the dining arrangement. We’ll sit here. So, it’s around 11:00, and the sun is shining brightly. Jitan Sir’s family dropped me off at Lifang’s house and then left . This was my hosting place, where I spent around a week . So, this is the locale, the surrounding area. I think I must have shown you in the previous video. So, it’s finally time to leave. My host, Lifang, is taking me to one or two places here. She said , “Let’s go and see.” If you want to cover the remaining places before we leave, you can check them out. I’m thinking, I haven’t purchased any souvenirs yet. So, let’s see if I can buy anything. We’ll have lunch together, etc., because I had very little time with Lifang. Off-camera, we explored and talked a lot together, and she was incredibly supportive and friendly. So, we’ll talk a little with Lifang as well. From here, finally, the airport is, I think, around 12 to 13 kilometers from here. So, I’ll get directly to the airport . The rest is Lifang’s car, which is the company’s car. You can see it. Swimming, I don’t know. Friend, I talked to Lifang quite a bit, but by profession, she is a maths teacher and since how long have you been in the teaching profession, 14 years before I was like, oh wow, and mainly maths, just maths, secondary maths, secondary maths, and how about the schooling system here? Six years primary and then five years old labour and then two years pre university and then four and three years for university engineering do we have engineering college college engineering college engineering yes we have a universe for that ok yeah and how about medical medical mostly I think training two years in I am another years in others other country ya training program oh but here like a local you have a local doctors mainly and even from out of the country the hospital local and also we have the foreigners like India ok ok ok Lifang yaar athlete bhi hai inke badminton bahut zyada pasand hai and also now you are going for marathon oh Singapore marathon Singapore marathon right ya ya ya so you are a sports person your love is sports a lot. Yes I I will try to. We have to do more. That’s why you are so energetic. No no it’s true. I found you are very energetic always. Even more energetic than me. You’re always an active person. That’s a good thing. But on camera, why am I down? Shine. Now we have a Shine Lipan. Okay, let’s drive very carefully. So, I ‘m currently in the Gadong area. And this entire area you see behind me, almost 80% of the shops here are Indian-dominated. Meaning, among all the shops owned by people, you’ll find a majority of them Indian, and you’ll also see a lot of people from Bangladesh and Pakistan. Just look at this, a day ago, when Jitendra Sir and I came here with the guys, it said Shri Chola SDA Bhd. This is also an Indian restaurant. If you want South Indian dosa, you can go there and eat. We did. Idli and other good dishes are quite good here. So, this is a completely commercial area here. And this is The Gadong Mall in front. So let’s go now, I needed to buy a souvenir. So, here you’ll find a lot of shops, like the one in front . One is on one side, and one is in front of it. So, let’s see, “Your Bruno’s Memory Shop.” It’s written like this. So, if I find a fridge magnet or something, I’ll buy it from here at least. It’s right here, brother, as soon as you enter, you’ll see it’s also written “Bruno is a Souvenir Magnet.” It has happened. So if you want to come here and buy it, I think the price is written in all these at once. So in some it is written around $3.90. It is around $4. This one is also $3.90 in some, around $4.90. And I think it is written differently here also . Hello hello how are you? Bye oh thank you thank you so much your name is Kashi Kashi Kashi really do you know there is a one city next to my city the name is Kashi or it is a Varanasi that is the city name in India that is your name so you are in India Kashi in Varanasi you are Kashi Kashi so thank you oh Trima Kashi Trimaka Kashi rest of these are their traditional clothes which females etc wear here, you will see that. So I have come to their shop friend. So to purchase winners etc. So all the products come from this yaar Bruner chip in Brune really happy star or happy star happy star that’s why you are happy happy or everyday happy every day happy oh my god can mix atom if you press two for 10 mix atom what what is saying mix item you can mix the item if press 2.90 if the price is 2.90 if press 3.90 three for 10 mix item you are if the price is $3.90 you get three for $10 one for one only if you get three is $10 $10 oh it’s like a discount or ok ok so sister discount etc. are also being given here I think so let me show you their shop properly once you people if you want to purchase something then in this frame all the different monuments, mosques of the country are present. Prices etc. are written here. I think they’ve also launched a buy-one-get-one-free offer on some of them . So, if you want to buy any of those items, you can get that too. The main economy here is oil and natural gas, so crude oil. That’s why, look, they have “Brunoi Daru Salaam” written on them. They’ve created fridge magnets for crude oil like this. Some of the others are larger, some are smaller. You’ll see them individually like this . This one is around $50. I’m talking about all Brun dollars. You can multiply by $67. One Brun dollar costs this much. Look, as it’s written. One is $2.90, but if you buy four, you’ll get four for around $10. So, that’s almost $10. Here, you can assume you’ll have to spend around $600. So let’s see if we like an item, we’ll buy it from here. This one is $3.90. So, you ‘ll get three pieces for around $10. There are also these small, cute items here. The rest are dolls and such. Look, it says Brunoie everywhere. If you want all these things, there are other kitchen items. If you need openers, etc., you can find all of them here. These small fridge magnets and other kitchen items are also here. Almost the same price. Oh, man, there are a lot of items here. Look, there are some really cute items here. Wow, they’ve kept the prices almost the same for everything. But the starting price, which I thought was the lowest, is around $2.90. The most basic one is around $3. After that, you’ll find different types of fridge magnets, keychains , and other items at different prices. Look, the prices are all written here. Other items include photo frames, postcards, and more. Look, there’s a postcard in front. Postcards also have different prices, starting with 0.80 “I Love Brunei.” Which one should I buy? Please suggest something after watching the video. Which one might be your favorite? I’m trying to show you. The rest, you can choose for yourself. Wow, there are a lot of items, man. Look at these big ones, like this. If you want a scale, it’s also around $5. This is also a good item. These small pouches have stick holders attached, and it’s written on them. So, these are wallets for ladies, etc. There are also cases for passports and more. Let me show you a few more items. Wow. So I think, look, if you want to bring a cap or something, then a cap with the word Brnoye written on it. Also, if you want to bring the flag of the country of Brno, you can take this flag as well. This is also a very nice frame in which you can see the I Love Brnoye mosque and all the different mosques. It’s all printed on it. It looks really beautiful, man. If you could take it home and hang it, the royal buildings, the water village, the campongy, the Kuwala village, all the different districts, and the Menemen National Monuments are all mentioned in it. Wow, look at this too, this cup doesn’t look small, it’s very beautiful. It costs around $10. The quality is also good, man. Wow, one thing is, the quality of all the items I saw here was good, especially the clothes, etc. I can’t say much about them, because maybe clothes etc. will seem a little expensive here. You can also see that if you want to purchase these T-shirts, a single T-shirt is around $16. They are available in different sizes, small, medium, and large. But you’ll find them priced around $6. So look at this, it ‘ll remind you a little of the Taj Mahal. These are some of the things you’ll find here, too. This is a photo frame with proper mention of a watch, etc. You’ll also find mugs printed with the full name Brunei. I definitely recommend this shop. If you’re looking for souvenirs, the prices are based on local prices. I think you’ll find this much on average anywhere. Look everywhere, almost everything is the same. Just a little more in some places. For example, I really like all these pieces. But the one problem is that I only have 7 kg. So, I can’t carry more than 7 kg. I’m limited. So, I’m only thinking of buying fridge magnets here. I can carry them in my pocket , or I might have weight issues on the flight. So, I’m thinking I won’t be able to take much. I probably couldn’t even get through Thailand . I couldn’t even get through Malaysia. My transit lasted only a day. I was only able to purchase a fridge magnet in Myanmar. I’ve also purchased a couple of other items from there . Wow! The quality of all of them is good. So, guys, I purchased two fridge magnets from here. One is this one with the “Brunei” color written on it. Golden color because Brunei has a lot of gold. So, in memory of the gold, I’m buying this monument. Inside, I think almost all of Brunei’s national monuments, the various places, are printed on it. So, I bought this one. It’s priced around $4, you can see that . As for this one, I found it quite unique. It’s kind of like a cup. But this one is a fridge magnet, and it’s very cute. You ‘ll also find different printed monuments on it . It costs around $5. So the bill for both of us came out to around 99. So, this is some restaurant where Lifam brought me for lunch. So let’s see what we’re getting inside. [Music] So, guys, this is our spinach fried rice that we ordered here. I think it says spinach, so it ‘s flavored, and they’ve tossed it accordingly. They’ve also chopped up some cucumbers as a side salad. And the rest of the Libang people ordered, I think it’s the same dish, but it actually has an egg in it. And these are mushrooms. These are the fried mushrooms that people ordered here . So guys, it’s around 1:30 in the afternoon. And this was Ora Restaurant, where we had lunch with Lifang’s family—her daughter and I think it was almost my last meal from Brunei, along with drinks. My flight is departing around 4:10 PM. The airport is quite nearby. So, I think we ‘ll be able to drive here within 15 to 20 minutes. So, here’s Brunei International Airport, and I think it’s even written in their local language. You can see it. If you come here, it ‘s the only international airport where you’ll see both arrival and departure in the same place. So, guys, this is departure, and we’ve finally reached the airport, and these were some of our last moments. So, let’s check in now. After checking in and clearing immigration, I’ll see you again. Bye-bye, take care. So this is our lovely, sweet, cute host, Lifang, who finally came to pick me up at the airport and is dropping me off and is leaving here. The rest is like this: the departure area of the international airport in Bandarseri Began, the capital city of Brunei Darussalam. So, let’s go through check-in first. Finally, my immigration, luggage, security, and boarding pass have been cleared, and I’ve officially exited Brunei. As soon as I arrived at the airport, I exchanged the remaining Bruneian currency here. I had around 100 Bruneian dollars left, which is around 77 US dollars. So, I exchanged that check here. So, now I only have enough Bruneian currency to keep as a souvenir . Everything else was smooth. The exit stamp has been put in, and the entry I received in Brno is valid until tomorrow. This means I still have an extra day. The rest is like this: boarding gates and so on. As you can see, this isn’t a very large airport, man. You’ll find between one and eight boarding gates here. As soon as you arrive at the airport, if you want to purchase some handcrafted items, like handmade knitwear, you’ll find all of those things available here. I’m inside the airport, and you can see me sweating, I’m sweating profusely. So, you can imagine how hot it is in Brno. Literally, you might have noticed the tan all over my face. So, let’s see what gate number I have and where I can board. I still have an hour and a half left. So, I have a good amount of time . It’s good. The airport is quite nice. It’s not very big. Still, there is enough space here for you to roam around, rest and relax. So guys, it is about to be around 3:00 and my flight from Brunei to India is at around 4:10. So the flight I am using from here is Air Asia and I had booked it from iThink India a month ago . And the cost I had to pay for it is around 12,000 INR. I am travelling from Brunei to Malaysia via Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur and from Kuala Lumpur to India’s Kolkata Airport, so these are around two flights for me, there is a layover of 2 hours only and in this cost of 12,000 I have got 7 kg luggage. But recently , Royal Brunei, which is their national airline, has also started a direct flight from Brunei to India, Chennai. There is an economy flight from Brunei Bandarseri Begawan to Chennai for around $300 Brunei Dollar, that is, you will get it from here for ₹00. You will also get a good amount of luggage. The best way to enter and exit Brunei country is via land border and you can come from Malaysia, especially by flight. If you want to come on a budget, then Kuching city of Malaysia or Mari city will be the nearest city. I think I would recommend for there, you can come to Malaysia directly by taking a flight from Mari or if you get a cheap flight from Mari then take the flight from Mari. You can come by land from Meri or from Kolampur, or even from Bunoi. If you come from Kollampur to Bunoi, i.e. Bandarseri, then you will get a flight for Rs. 5000 to Rs. 6000. If you come from Meri, then you will get it for Rs. 2000 to Rs. 3000. The flight from Kollampur to Meri will also be available for around Rs. 2000 to Rs. 1500 if you book a little well in advance. So these are all the hacks that I think you can follow and if you want to enter the Brazilian country on a very low budget, then you can come here. Otherwise, if you want, you can also fly from Indonesia and come here. You can get a decent flight from Jakarta within your budget. From Malaysia, you can get flights from these three cities, Kollampur, Koching and Meri, at a very reasonable price. And there is one more option that if you are going to Philippines, then from Philippines also from Manila also you will get a flight to Bandarasseri at a very good and reasonable price in budget . Rest of the visa, I think I told you about Brunei in the previous video that you will have to bring a physical visa here, there is no tourist visa, especially any e-visa, any visa on arrival service in Brunei country and there are two types of visas, business visa and tourist visa, tourist visa, I told you that you will get a maximum stay of only 14 days and it will depend on what itinerary you are bringing, accordingly you will get entry here on passport and visa I told you about the process: you can go to the Indian High Commission in Delhi. There are five working days for around 1,300 Indians. You can get your visa there. You can also get coffee beans. If you want to drink coffee, there’s a sky lounge next to it. If you want to access the lounge upstairs, they have a seating arrangement here . All the other boarding gates are separate. Some shops are closed here. Now you can see the duty-free shop, but it’s also closed right now. There are many counters. There are many different vending machines here. If you need to use the oven, etc., there are different box meals. There are also food options here. Mostly, all of them are non-vegetarian. But if you want to eat or drink something in combination with rice , you’ll find plenty of options here. Mainly, you ‘ll get chicken. I’ve probably already told you about nasi nasi, mince rice. So, Nasir Lema, these are all the dishes you’ll find here, and it’s written that cash payment is $1 only. Well, this is Brunei, so you can also pay by card. If you have a Visa or MasterCard, it ‘ll make your payment very easy. These are just a few items. Mainly , if you want sandwiches, cold drinks, beverages, lemon tea, etc. , all these options are available here. For around $1, this is a good thing . Just imagine, if you purchase anything like this at the airport , the prices will be almost quite reasonable. Boarding time is almost upon us. So, let’s head to the boarding gate. But before that, let’s access the restroom. [Music] So finally it’s time to say goodbye to Brunei and I think around the same number of days we spent here. 26A flight is quite long, man, this one, thank you. So my seat is 26A, finally, let’s get a window, so I think this is my seat, this one, two call numbers, please be in that, row one, two, five, 12, and 14 are really hot scenes, man. I think around, it will be two hours of flying time from here and we will reach Kollam. Then our layover will be around 1 hour 50 minutes, and then from there we will fly back to Kolkata, Sapna and AirAsia. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Now , bye, take care. So guys, finally, welcome to Malaysia, Kolarampur. So, I think this will be my second time entering Malaysia, Falnapur . This time, I am transiting. So, the flight experience was absolutely great. And brother, you must be seeing these cloudy views this time. It was a beautiful, wonderful moment. I think I’ve taken so many flights. Imagine traveling for around 52 hours, this was the first time I’d had such an experience. I was really enjoying this experience. So, we have to go to international departures. For domestic flights, it’s J&K, and for international departures, you have to cross through the LPQ gate, and there ‘s a transfer counter here . I think there might be a transfer counter here as well. So I came here and got my boarding pass for the next flight , from Kollam to Kolkata, India. So , I only have around 28 hours left. So, I thought we’d explore this airport a bit. Look, there’s a complete world map here . Shanghai is this many kilometers from here. You’ll find all the landmarks of New York, Kyoto, Paris, Rome, and more here. Just imagine how big Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia is. I told you it’s one of the busiest airports in the world, and domestic and international flights depart from different terminals, and this is T2. You’ll mainly see international flights from here. [Music] [Applause] [Music]
