I have been to Germany a number of times. It is a beautiful country . What I learned was Germans build things to last. It is really amazing in all these vids how everything was restored.
Famous Portal IV (entrance no. 4) of the former Royal Palace in Berlin. From the 1st floor window, Communist Karl Liebknecht proclaimed a German socialist republic during the November revolution of 1919. When an actual German socialist government had the palace blown up in 1950, the portal was salvaged and used to decorate a later building across the street, which then was home to the council of the state of the German Democratic Republic (Staatsratsgebäude, shown here). Today, the Palace has been rebuilt including a new "Portal IV", so it might be called a piece of doppelganger architecture. Or, a portal into the past. Thanks for the vid, again!
