Day 4: Chiang Mai
Our day in Chiang Mai started slow, exploring one of the city’s beautiful temples, surrounded by gold, incense, and quiet. Afterward, we made our way to Ka Soy Mai for lunch. The line was already out the door. We waited for about an hour, but it was so worth it. The spot’s been featured in the Michelin Guide for years, and after one bite, it’s easy to see why. We got the classic cal soy and beef noodle soup. Both were absolutely amazing. After all that heat, ice cream was a must. After lunch, we headed over to the royal temple. The temple is surrounded by peaceful gardens with ancient stupas rising against the sky. The architecture is intricate and layered with delicate carvings and serene statues tucked into every corner. Then it was off to the silver temple. Absolutely beautiful. Every detail carved in silver. But since women aren’t allowed inside, I admired from outside while Dre went in to explore. After that, we took our very first tuk tuk ride, weaving through Chiang Mai’s streets to grab dinner before heading back. It was definitely an experience. We ended the night with One Piece and Bon Mi, a quiet moment to unwind before another adventure.
Another day of temples and maybe the best meal we’ve had so far!
