Taken in July 2025. If you're going to Australia in July, winter in the southern hemisphere, please consider visiting this sacred and magical place. I wasn't too excited about adding a 3-night stop in this area during our 3-week trip, but this was one of the best parts of the whole trip.
- Uluru (Ayer's Rock) at sunset is magical
- The other side of this monolith
- The rock is not the only attraction, the endless desert is stunning
- There are other monoliths to explore, namely Kata Tjuta
It's a 7-mile hike around the base of Uluru and absolutely worth it. It truly feels disconnected from the world. This is a sacred place, there are many parts of the rock you are not allowed to photograph. The pictures I have shared are ones that were allowed to be taken. Do yourselves a favor and don't skip this place. Plus the stargazing is world class.
