Me and the Boi's hiked up the tallest mountain in idaho (12,662ft) with about 5200ft in elevation gain, 8 miles round trip and it was cold, windy and a lot of scrambling. Saw and asked a lot of people who were on their way back if they summited and the most answer I got was "nah its to cold" or "Chicken out Ridge was to sketchy" which I don't blame them since if you've never done stuff like that it can be terrifying haha but honestly the scrambling was my favorite part!

10/10 I'd do it agian next year just for the views!
