Southern Perfect France

Since the weather conditions in Germany during summer break weren’t that great, we spontaneously decided on a friday night to get out of here. 30 min and half of our savings later, we held two flight tickets to Nice in our hands, departure tomorrow. Why the Côte d’Azur? No idea, it was just the first thing that came to our minds. A tent, 2 sleeping pads, our swimmers and a ton of sunscreen was all we needed. Without any accommodation booked and not even one thought wasted on the question where we would stay the next night, we already sat in the plane, the backpacks on our laps and an excited smile on our faces.
The first night we ended up sleeping at a hippie women’s apartment in the middle of Nice, sharing the bed with her cuddly cat. The following nights were less cozy but therefore even more adventurous.
Wild camping on mountain tops looking down on the city lights of the South Coast. Sleeping at the edge of a cliff listening to the sound of the sea while falling asleep. Playing cards at midnight under a sky full of stars. Walking till the feet bleed and the sweat drops. Watching fireworks over Monaco. Going for morning swims and night walks. Exploring the ancient villages Eze, Grasse and Menton while munching on grapes, baguettes and any other fruits we could find.
