About Saudia (from Wikipedia):
Saudia (Arabic: السعودية as-Suʿūdiyyah), formerly known as Saudi Arabian Airlines (Arabic: الخطوط الجوية العربية السعودية al-Ḫuṭūṭ al-Jawwiyyah al-ʿArabiyyah as-Suʿūdiyyah), is the flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, based in Jeddah. The airline’s main operational base is at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam are secondary hubs. It operates domestic and international scheduled flights to over 100 destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. Domestic and international charter flights are operated, mostly during the Ramadan and the Hajj season. It joined the SkyTeam airline alliance on 29 May 2012 becoming the first Persian Gulf carrier to join one of the three major airline alliances. Saudia is a member and one of the founders of the Arab Air Carriers Organization.

That's a really cool and functional eye mask.
in my opinion its kinda cool that the pilots sitting with you and making himself at home. he doesnt feel uncomfortable whatsoever and thats a good sign no one should
Goodness. That’s a lot of nuts.
… also, and I feel you, I do! But to vomit (and maybe the need to use the bathroom) is the way your body gets rid of poison in such cases. It’s better to go with it, and get it done. Don’t keep in what needs to leave.
It ain’t fun. Still …
I recently flew on saudia economy their cabin crew is amazing but the entertainment system is quite small not having many options
Dan can you rate the Lufthansa 380?
Dan, you are a class act. 👏
Homosexuality is outlawed in Saudi Arabia. I was surprised you made it through and weren't held for 'education'
Only friendly to foreigners from Europe or America people
I flew with Saudia last year and except the 8h stay in Riyadh, it was all in all a great experience
calls to prayer on the infotainment, censored entertainment, and no alcohol on any routes.. HA! 😂 hard pass ✋
That's saudia for you my friend. I took a direct flight to Riyadh once and was upgraded into the business class because I was seated next to a bunch of long-beared saudis whose expression as if they were going to hell that day for seating next to a haram female. Anyway, although the seat was much better, the rest of the flight was horrible experience. The pilot went through turbulance in high speed, they ascended and descended in jerky movement it was the first time in my life I felt like reaching for the barf bag and there was no safety announcement for landing. They don't bother to check for my safety belt and most of them were still in flat position sleeping away. It was the last time I took Saudia. Plus, all the tv shows were cut, blurred or just blank screen because the female were showing too much skin
I am really curious about why someone was trying to get into the room?? and why?? that is so disturbing. did you find out? or does anyone know more about this?
Wow. Someone trying to get into your room is absolutely terrifying. Especially with the phone not working too. I would’ve thought that was an inside job to get robbed/hurt.
I’m really glad you’re safe.
One suggestion if I may. If I was flying a Saudi Arabia airline I would definitely respect their religion and modesty and just wear a long sleeve shirt or top especially with women. Remember your a guest in any country or their airline. 😊
You have started the video by saying that you have made a promise that you will never use this airline but because of the price you have changed your mind which make you a hypocrite with no values to stand for
Then doing air line review for an airline that you have campaigned against before, that just make the credibility of this review really low
And I will not be surprised if the whole story of Aerohotel was made up by you hence no evidence to support it
Food poisoning is the worst. Spolis everything. Ever the professoinal, you still managed to get a video out. Glad you recovered, Dan. Thanks for sharing.
why on earth would the receptionist being a woman stop you from asking for a refund at the hotel? It seems potentially sexist to assume that saudi women couldn't handle a mild bit of conflict?
The security services were fucking with you. 100%
Nice video! Recover from your food poisoning
4:35 lol that seat has 3 USB A ports per passenger talk about overkill
DEAR MR NONSTOP =D.A.N. thought you were giving up = your videos ???✈
It's a NIGHTMARE at the hotel !! I can't imagine to ear someone trying to open my door while I'm sleeping !!!!!!
Not sure but I bet most of your reviews are from us economy flyers ,, nice that you can do bus and first
Dan, my heart goes out to you and your food poisoning experience – especially on a long-haul! I too hate vomitting, but your body is telling you it needs to get rid of some toxic materials, so if it's gotta go, you've got to let your body do its thing.
Regarding the skipped safety video… I fly Gulf Air between Dubai and London every 1-2 months and I'd say most of the time there's no safety video between Dubai and Bahrain. I'm guessing it's not a legal requirement for some countries or something?
Saudi Arabia needs a better service that is serviceable for the long term, I cannot wait for there Neom airlines.
No alcohol. Censorship. Prayer. Completely antediluvian.
Commitment to the channel 💯
Why not just open the door and ask wtf is up when they are there? Just a suggestion…
WHAT IS UR PROBLEM WITH SAUDI AS A COUNTRY TO BEGIN WITH!!! 🙄🙄
I lived in the KSA for 15 months and refused to fly them! Luckily Lufthansa flies from Riyadh!
Could you please stop using who is nonstop Dan. Now my parents and neighbours recognise the sound bro they come to me and ask what ya travelled today
Cool intro seat layout
Tbh i love saudia, i often use them from
Frankfurt to the middle east or asia
Great video Dan! I flew Saudi business back in October and (apart from the food poisoning!) had a very similar experience. Lovely crew, great onboard Chef, and then male pursers who literally did nothing, sitting down chatting amongst themselves for most of the flight!
I have a flight with Qatar tomorrow flying from UK to Delhi. Very excited to experience the Business Class cabin on the 787-9 ! Loved your video on that experience too. Happy flying
Cheers for the video Dan looks great to me,,,peace and happiness on your travels sorry to here you was ill
I understand. I flew Aeroflot in 1983, from Athens to Cairo, and it was both exotic and terrifying. Even the food served on Aeroflot was something in between a tasting-menu of rare Soviet-Russian cold cuts, and a refrigerated pack of store-bought "Launchables". And the Soviet Unions pilots seemed to have NO CONCERNS to give us a smooth ride. My travel buddy even got a nosebleed, and I was certain that we would die. I never had, before that flight, wished we were back on Tunisian Air, the second worst airline I had ever traveled on at the time (where people actually made their own tea in the aisle on a portable burner, and the whole cabin smelled like armpits). Tunisian Air and Aeroflot made my later flight on JAT (Jugoslovenski Aerotransport) seem like today's Emirates. And as I understood it back then, Ethiopian Air was the worst of all of them, and I feared it, even though I had later traveled on Air Burma in 1986 (which was just fine in comparison, especially for a prop-plane), even though their prop-planes had been built before 1953, and that they actually had bunkbeds with curtains in the back for those "new fangled" overseas trips. So – Saudi Air, ya, it could easily suck.
Awesome job dan with review.
reason why they have so many economy class for indonesia is bcs they are their biggest market for the pilgrimage to Saudi every single year especially during Ramadhan.. And lower class people do spend their whole life savings just to do the pilgrimage..
Oscar who?
Can someone link?
I fortunately never had food poisoning in flight, but I was having over 39.5°C of fever on a flight from MIA back to Europe. Was also not nice
flew Saudia for the first time in March from Manchester to Manila in Economy. Was surprised at how comfortable their 777 was, I was in a 9 abreast configuration and the seats felt like premium economy on other airlines with a generous recline. The crew on all 4 flights were outstanding and accommodating, the food was OK. I think Jeddah airport is OK, but it feels a little "hollow", though theres plenty of restaurants and I was excited to try Al Baik fried chicken !
I believe Saudia now offer complementary transit visas and hotel stays for a few nights which I missed out on, but would be interesting to get a taste of Saudi Arabia in the future. Agree with your points about cultural progress, but same can be said for much of the ME unfortunately; usually the best way to fly from Western Europe to SEA is via a Gulf Arab airline, so kinda have to swallow your morals.
Its so sad that the food just gets thrown out after landing😔
So now we are waiting for your review on the new Gothenburg-New York route👍🏼
Dan, I am with you. I will do whatever I can to avoid throwing up. But when it comes, and I can't hold it down, I get quick relief. I know this, yet I avoid it! Glad to see you feel better.
You’re a trooper. I would have vomited to relieve my nausea and asked for bread and yogurt to recover from vomiting. The food looked good in the end.
