© 2002 Rick Steves’ Europe | Cruising the Rhine River, we dodge riverboat traffic and the legendary Lorelei. After climbing castles and descending into dungeons, we relax with Rhine wine. We tour Burg Eltz — a lived-in castle where the noble lady still puts out fresh flowers. Then we enter the walled town of Rothenburg for Germany’s best wood carving, a vivid dose of medieval punishment, and a tour with the night watchman of the town’s lamp-lit ramparts. #ricksteves #ricksteveseurope #germany

hamburger = n a cake of minced beef, often served in a bread roll. Also called: beefburger. [C20: from Hamburger steak (steak in fashion of Hamburg, Germany]
Rick is the god of travel.
As a German, I have literally never heard of the Deutsche Eck lol. Don't know what this old guy is rambling on about. Also Bismarck unified Germany, not any Wilhelm.
Just came back from a trip to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. A bus trip from Munich to Harburg Castle and Rothenburg was a highlight of it time in Germany. Rothenburg on a summer Sunday was not as crowded as I expected. The shepherds’ church built into the town defenses was fascinating and we enjoyed a climb to the top of city hall.
I can happily say that I have been to koblenz and along the river mosel to cochem and burg eltz!!! :))))
Germany is the most beautiful country in Western Europe and I have been every country there. Only western England or Norway comes close.

Where do you recommend to start this trip from? Which city has to be the first and last?
My favourite punishment that should be used today is the double necked?violin …so many uses today for warring countries the leaders should wear these until agreement is reached … I am serious ..this is brilliant …no more war or bombing or dead soldiers or dead civilians … A world peace commitee would manage this ..
Really nice. I am Dit h and sure I know something about Germany but this video is an eye_opener to its beauty.
Dutch as in Holland neighbouring Germany.

I found out when I was 16 years old that my biological father was mostly German, Romanian and Russian. I have always had a passion for these areas, now I know why, it's in my blood lol..

so beautiful
I've been in every castle on that river in the 70s & 80s when I lived there before this new technology and all the tourists now it doesn't even look the same!
I have always been fascinated by the German culture, language, civilization, heritage and people. I love their landscape, cities and countryside. I love their great composers, their football, technology and love for meat and beer. Love from Uganda. Hope I visit there someday.
Rated See!
I thought you might enjoy looking back
