We had one LOOONG travel day. First the bus from Zagreb, Croatia to Budapest, Hungary. Then we boarded the Ister Train (EN 473) to take us from Budapest to Bucharest, Romania. We’ve been on a few sleeper trains, and this one wasn’t the best but it also wasn’t the worst. We booked a 2 person private sleeper which is in one of the oldest train cars. All in all it was a good trip, we caught some sleep, and we saved a little bit of money. If you’re planning this trip, just don’t expect too many frills… and bring your own toilet paper.
