The campaign, dubbed the “Year of Return,” became a catalyst for many descendants of Africans in the diaspora to embark on a spiritual journey.
At the time, it also marked 400 years since the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in Jamestown, Virginia.
“The Year of Return” was also to celebrate the resilience of all the victims of the trans-Atlantic slave tradewho were forcefully displaced throughout the world, ending up in North America, South America, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.

Ghana isn't hard at all if you come from certain cities in America. I come from Philadelphia and it's expensive not as expensive as New York but it's up there. So coming from Philly would be good for me

I have seen several Jamaicans who did their dna test and found Kenyan dna in their results.
Another reason why many Caribbean, UK Blakk pple and AAs started going to Tanzania because of our beloved John Mag-ufu-li. who was the leader of that country in 2020. Our people valued his decisions about leading his country especially during the recent global shut-down.
Many of us so-called, "African Americans", no nothing of the many respective African nation's progressive (or digressive) history.
Many of us are still struggling and trying to learn of our African history and of the present day, "post colonial" status or condition of the various, respective African nations.

If your intention is to promote your country, there is no need to specifically mention Ghana. The migration of 1,500 African Americans to Ghana may not be considered a large number. African Americans can be found not only in Ghana but also in other countries like Gambia and South Africa. In fact, thorough research would reveal that a significant number of African Americans choose to settle in South Africa.
