Shibamata is an area outside central Tokyo with an older feel, Japanese street food and snacks, temples and a river to explore.

Shibamata has a completely different feel to the inner city. There are more traditional style Japanese shops and houses, small restaurants and we even found ourselves strolling through a quiet area where people live. It’s a lot quieter than the big city but I really enjoyed seeing another side of life in Japan.
