Another fascinating day of exploring in the Carpathian mountains of central Romania, in which I try to find a church hidden within a secret cave. You can watch Part 1 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJGTSQaUZDM

  2. Wow. Romania looks like one of the most beautiful countries you have ever visited. I especially love (as always) the clips where you're driving through towns or the country side, always with your awesome background music. Those clips give me such a good feel for the place. And I am so often surprised at just how "touristy" so many destinations are, but Romania seems to be an exception to that. Which makes me want to go there even more. As usual, thank you Gabe so much for your hard work, so many of us get to see our beautiful world through your eyes. You are simply the best. Stay safe.

  3. And one more comment, I LOVE how you are always so very respectful to the locals, being very careful to respect their privacy and property, AND I love how you always talk to the animals, if you see a cat, it's "meow", a cow it's "mooo", so darn cute!

  4. Hey Gabriel! I'm really sorry it didn't work out with the Bat Cave. The nuns at the monastery would've give you the key or would've join you for the visit for free. They are educated and most likely speak English. Maybe next time. There is a lot to explore in that area though. I really hope you had a good time and I'm looking forward for your next adventure.

  5. Gabe, YouTube keeps removing my attempt to comment. There is is a popular hiking app that will help you stay on the right trail via GPS, even real-time trip reports from users. Beautiful trip so far.

  6. Go to the southern Romania mate, from west to east! It s the real essence of what Romania realy is! With good and bad!with gipsies and a balkan approach towards life! Go off the tourist track and check out south and east of Romania cause that IS the real Romania!

  7. Another unmissable video. I love the way you explore little hidden roads and byways, and discover the unexpected wherever you go, taking us with you. Even the disapointment of finding the cave door locked opens up the door of the bigger monastery nearby.
The beating sound before the bells was the Toaca, a wooden plank which the monastic strikes to make a rhythmnic sound to let the other monastics know the service is about to start. Here is one of many examples on YT It is something of an artform in Romania .https://youtu.be/Isx4jc9kyEI.

  8. Wow, very interesting and exciting. I am glad you made it safely since there could have been a bear or 3 around. Stay safe thanks for the ride and the. itchy hike. Was just thinking of poison ivy.😮 ❤

  9. Apparently dogs in Romania are not taught to say, "Hello, good morning sir, how's your day 🤣… those places that you find, only you can find. I am sure probably not even the locals know they exist!! Spectacular views!!

  10. How about the history Gabriel? You did not mention Arad, Temesvar, etc were part of Hungary for one thousand years. All respect to the Romanian people but history matters too.
Did the Romanians sponsor your visit?

  11. My goodness my list for places to visit in Romania just keeps growing! That canyon is a fantastic find. The wooden cross brought tears to my eyes, beautiful! So excited to see what you find next!

  12. An Old Believer's Cross at 14:44
NI KA could be – He conquers, in Greek; or more likely – Nas Iskupi Kroviu Adamova in Slavic (Save us with the blood of Adam – here symbolized by the skull carving)
