On my first full day of exploring the disputed country of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (also called Northern Cyprus or the TRNC) I walked around the pleasant city of Girne (also called Kyrenia) on the Mediterranean Sea.

  1. Gabriel, what do you think would happen to the people that would desecrate a mosque in turkey by holding a party with alcohol on a holy site? I find it disgusting that Turks have no respect for our religion

  2. Watched a couple minutes of it and I knew it would have biased incorrect information. It was not a invasion! You mention when Turkey came the Greeks fled to the south. You forgot to mention the Turks who lived in the south had to fled to north. The Ottomans ruled the island the Greeks have never ruled the island. Before the Ottomans it was the Venetians ruling. Before Turkey army came in 1979 the Greeks Cypriots were killing everyone who got in their way of ENOSIS (union with Greece) killing Turkish Cypriots

  3. A sad fact: before 1974 (the so called invasion of Turkey) both communities of turkish and greek cypriots were living together. After 1974 they were all displaced. Mainly the turkish speaking had to move to northern part and greek cypriots to southern part. You can easily understand this from the names of some football teams of both communities. For example there is a team in kyrenia (in north) and it is called turk ocagi limasol which basically indicates that they were a team from limassol city in southern side of the island. In any case, cyprus is a beautiful place when communities are not toys of politics. Do not forget that greeks turks maronites romanis and latins of cyprus lived together peacefully for more than 500 years.
    Videos are amazing btw

  4. Ancient history greek and ottoman past, sitting behind not giving a damn about how the Greek Nazi coup and the Turkish kemalist invasion split the island in half.

Hard to say if Cyprus becomes one country again, but Cypriots should be the one to decide. Beautiful place.

  5. Such a beautiful part of the world and you got some amazing footage. I was lucky enough to just spend two weeks in the North 💖 Just uploaded my vlog of it too.

  6. The north part of Cyprus, is occupied by Turkey since 1974
    MILITARY OCCUPIED AREAS
The majority of all those are still our stolen lands and properties
    PLEASE
We expect from you people to RESPECT that

is just like today, the Russians are selling plots in Crimea/ Ukrainia

  7. You’re spreading Turkish propaganda! No such thing as Turkish Republic of N Cyprus. Cyprus is an occupied country! Frankly, you and the rest of tourists visiting North Cyprus are contributing to the problem.

  8. The Greek cypriot nationalists want you to believe their narrative, they’ve done a good job at fooling the international community, but here is the truth that the Turkish Cypriots had to go through;

The Greek Cypriot so called ‘Republic of Cyprus’ has been persecuting it’s Turkish minority since 1963 3 years after independence, this was because the Greek Cypriots wanted a 100% Greek and christian population in Cyprus and eventually they wanted to unite with Greece. The turks were ethnically cleansed and forced to live in enclaves. The Turkish Cypriots suffered during this time. In 1974 (July 15) there was a coup funded by the junta in Greece, the new government was finally going to unite with Greece. Turkey could not let this happen to the Turkish Cypriots, Turkey invaded 5 days later on the 20th of July 1974 to save the Turkish Cypriots.

Today the Greek Cypriot government wants the north back, and they want Turkish troops gone. The Turkish army saved the Turkish Cypriot people and they will never let the Greek Cypriots take it away from them. This is why the Greek Cypriots rejected the Annan plan, but a ‘united’ cyprus would only work with the turkish army protecting the Turkish Cypriots.

Meanwhile in Greek Cypriot schools children are taught that Cyprus is a greek and Christian island, the ROC recognise the terrorist group EOKA as heroes, the Turkish language is not used anywhere in the Republic of Cyprus.

The ‘Republic of Cyprus’ and their ideology does not accommodate Turkish Cypriots, it wants to get rid of them.

The Turkish Cypriots are embargoed and ignored by the international community.

This is why there would only be a two state solution in Cyprus.

Long live the TRNC. Don’t believe propagandists (who are even in this comment section)

And also, the Turkish Cypriots are not really religious, so I recommend you don’t call them muslims.

  9. At 3:40 Why do you say north became turkish muslim country 🤣 just say it became Turkish country.. what has to do with religion? Turkey and north Cyprus are both secular country. law is written on European values.people are free to live how they want and believe what they want.. i am sure you saw many people both it turkiye and TRNC not dressed or live like a typical muslim people 🧕🕌. I just saw at 10:30 you said you just realised its Friday hollydays thats why its quite 🤣.you must be thinking you are in saudi arabia or something 🤣 people are doing siesta thats why its quite 😁 most in Mediterranean countries in summer people dont work between 1 to 4pm and they just rest at home . As a travel like you i am sorry to say that you have very little knowledge of countries or nations you visit. Extra notes.. at the end your meals are musakka and raki! Not ouzo! Also thats coban salad not greek salad . Hallumi Cheese and sausages are not greek platter🙈 thats Cypriot platter and the rest.. you cant stop using greek words for what you having 😅 i am surprised you didn't say greek stuffed chicken and Greek beef quesadilla. 😂 well done 👏

  10. No it isn't a recognized country and as an educated adult you shouldn't support an illegal community that violates all human right – by visiting them and calling your video North Cyprus. I shouldn't comment here to give you value but someone needs to speak.
