An incredible day of traveling from Jerusalem into the West Bank of Palestine to visit the Mar Saba Monastery, the ancient city of Jericho and the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth at 430 meters or 1,412 feet below sea level.

  1. Hi Gabriel, that was an amazing road trip through the mountains and the city of Jericho and the Dead Sea. The mountain caves were amazing, you could easily spend all day walking around even though much was close. I love the fact that religious traditions are kept in this modern world of the living, religion still has a place in the modern world and the commandments of Moses are still held in high regard. The Bible is still used as a point of reference when taking an oath. Few things have stood the test of time and maintain their core values as religion. The Bible is not just a history book of the past but a reference of knowledge and the experiences to live by them. What can you say about the Dead Sea's healing is well-documented and respected you can even find Dead Sea soap sold in today's markets for its healing skin properties.

  2. It's too bad you didn't visit Masada. It was King Herod's mountain palace fortress where about 1000 Jews held out against the Romans before committing mass suicide. There's a cable car that takes you up to it & a trail if you want to hike. The southern part of the Dead Sea is also more beautiful & has natural springs.

  3. And I thought Saudi Arabia was the worst place Gabe decided to visit….This entire part of the world needs a hard-reset. Hard to imagine going to the middle-east on purpose… what a garbage dump.

  4. Don't understand why majority Cristian USA give billions to Jesus hater Israel. What is the cost of morality. 2 wrongs don't make right. What Jews doing in Palestine is not answer for what Hitler did to them. Personally until 2 states solution is reached I wont visit this criminal country

  5. Gabriel, that is my language! Amharic National language from Ethiopia. I think it is the name of a Priest/Monk. መሰረት፡ ማርያም፡ አባ ንዋየ፡ ሥላሴ።

  6. Dead Sea water is fantastic for healing all sorts of skin issues. The road blockage must have been a result of an alert. Despite the delay it may have caused, better safe than sorry.

  7. Consider taking a ferry from Cyprus to Lebanon for your next country. Otherwise you may get warped into a parallel matrix cycling between Israel, Cyprus and Georgia indefinitely… That swim stands out from all your other swims for sure!

  8. There are quite a few places open in Jerusalem on shabbat. The First Station (named for where the old Ottoman train station used to be) has bars & restaurants open on Shabbat, also Cinema City ( a mall with cineplex, shops & restaurants has some cafes open. There are other places too, you just have to look for them or ask a taxi what's open.

  9. Not 1 ancient Palestinian site, no ancient Palestinian artifacts, no unique Palestinian culture (other then group antisemitism)… Palestinian identity is the biggest fraud ever told. Every inch of that land is covered in 4000 years of Jewish history. The Jews never left.

  10. That was epic! Had my heart in my mouth when you were walking those mountains thinking that you could slip at any moment. The dead sea is really cool. Thank you!

  11. Gabriel, You should have brought us down to the Wailing Wall-Western Wall before exiting Jerusalem. There might be some people chanting and praying with SHAVOT going on. You seemed emotional closing this blog. Its not recommended to ingest The Dead Sea but you saw the lowest place on planet earth. The water is 100 times Salty compared to The Atlantic Ocean. Its good you floated and cooled off. You were incorrect about that fire. It was reported as an attack in West Bank earlier in the day by the Israeli press.

  12. Stop your zionist propaganda. Palestine is “occupied” not “disputed”. You claim to use the UN as a reference. According the UN and the world community, including USA and Canada, Palestine is occupied. In addition, Jerusalem was established by the Canaanite and Egyptian and not King David, as you claim. Check your facts and stop being bias!

  13. I was SO glad you made it back to float in the Dead Sea and see the parts of Jericho you missed the last time! I loved the experience of floating in the Dead Sea and hated you had missed it.
