If you decide to go to the Batu caves, don’t be lazy like your old friend MJ.. climb the steps and go inside. It’s pretty epic. Watch out for monkeys on the steps though. 😆

Be sure to visit the Pinoy shopping Mall called Kota Raya just opposite the Chinatown main entrance. Plenty of red bull, lechon, halo halo and sinigang if you're interested and still around.
malaysia is not that bad… I already live here 40+ years, I never heard that kind of scam.
I was in Kuala lumpur a few months ago. You have to register & use your passport. Safe travels 🙏
In Malaysia, the phone Sim has limit on its hotspot data. I think that's probably why. Also, it's not a scam. They probably just activated the mobile package and downloaded the service app.
if you're not in a hurry, just take the bus from the airport which is only rm15
