Helsinki is the capital, largest and most populous city in Finland. Located on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, it is located 80 kilometres (50 mi) north of Tallinn, Estonia, 400 km (250 mi) east of Stockholm, Sweden, and 300 km (190 mi) west of Saint Petersburg, Russia. It has close historical links with these three cities.
Our trip to Europe in December 2023 (Winter) started with three nights in Helsinki. We did a walking tour to explore the city’s best sights, restaurants, and nightlife of the city. Below are the places you can see in this video:

Trying the salmon soup from soup and more, getting chocolate from xocolab and visiting the sauna at Loyly are activities I highly recommend doing when in Helsinki. Make sure to pack layers because the Winters in Finland can be quite harsh and take your waterproof shoes with you, because with the snow and the water from the rain, you will need them. Don’t be afraid to visit Helsinki during Winter just because it’s cold, Helsinki is a beautiful city and if you are prepared you will have the time of your life.
