What I want to cover today is about how to become a speaker A specialized flight attend basically you’re a flight attend first and then a speaker after that but the best way to go about doing that is first and foremost looking through applications for various Airlines there
Are many many airlines out there you have the Legacy airlines that hire for international destinations and and these speakers are hired specifically for those flights now we’re going to talk today we’ll talk about the advantage and disadvantage in this video and the next video will include the application process how to go about
It so first and foremost you go into your preferred Airline I always recommend having backup plans and not putting all your eggs in one basket so on once you go ahead and put in that application or before you even start that application you’re going to go through language of destination so
There’s going to be two types of applications that you’re going to be looking into the first one is just a plain flight attendant doesn’t matter what airline this is flight attendant for XYZ Airline many opportunities come for many flight attendants or individuals that won’t apply because they have a
Skill and having a certain skill be that in language can really bolster your choice when it comes to the airline industry especially flight attendant because everything is about seniority so while looking through applications to different companies you’re going to see LOD which means line of destination for that Airline and you
Have many languages all our Legacy Airlines fly to Europe Asia and these countries really help uh flight attendants and and potential flight attendants for your applications to go through because for example if you’re flying to Asia like China Japan India we have a lot of passengers that would love
To have someone that speaks the local language and is more fluent and noteworthy able to help assist and speak the language because they can relate to you so when you’re looking at this application you’re going to see LOD Spanish LOD Chinese LOD Hindi LOD Hebrew so when you speak a particular
Language you then have the ability to go in and apply you have a little upper hand that’s the advantage when it comes to getting a position on that particular flight so for example I’m going to go ahead and say in this video let’s say you’re flying to New York to New Delhi
And language spoken in India is Hindi so this language of destination that flight attendant should be able to speak Hindi and would New York to Delhi being about 7,000 miles it’s a pretty long flight and as you’ll come to know about a flight attendant’s life everything is
Based on credit the longer the flight the better for you you have more Independence and also if you’re a speaker it’s better to be a line holder than a reserve speaker so the number one advantage of being a language of destination is speaker in the flight attendant world is
That you will have a better chance of holding a line in other words you will know your schedule for the month you will have a set schedule you will also have a better chance of picking up other trips once you know your schedule is set
For the month as well as for those who don’t want to work as much you will be able to set yourself up for Success whether you want to go on vacation or whether you have have a family you have kids you have other predetermined uh obligations having a line really helps
You beat and also compare and have a life that’s outside being reserved so that’s the number one advantage the other advantage of being a line of destination speaker gives you the upper hand a skill that the company would really like to have you because you can
Relate you are the front line and you represent the company when you’re on that plane so if there’s an emergency or if there’s a translation and someone says something or they unable to speak English you come into the picture you play a very important role between the passenger and
Your crew mates so as a flight attendant you’re able to judge the situation you are able to go in between your flight attendant the company and the passenger so in in the case of an emergency and where time is of the essence when you speak the language that
Can save a passenger’s life that can also save a lot of time and that can also save your other crew mates from any tension or any stress that might be there so you play a very key role when it comes to emergencies as well and that’s the whole importance of having a
Line of destination speaker on the on the plane so that you can help your crew mates and be able to relate in reality to your passengers and also assist your crew members so those are the two very key advantages of being a line of destination so let’s recap this

Won’t be on reserve what what does that mean for you what that means for you is that you will have a schedule and will not have to rely on guessing as to where you’re going because you will have a definite schedule and you’ll be able to live a
