I'm glad you went through N. Australia, just so that I know what it looks like. Not a high spot on your world tour, me thinks! Anyway, I will be interested to see what the habitated part of Australia looks like. By the way, Australia bought some nuclear submarines. Why does Australia need nuclear submarines? Why does Australia even need a military? Who would attack Australia? I guess every self respecting country wants to have a military!

Minor point: mount isa = mount eye-za.

Close your vents and whack the air conditioning on when you drive through bushfires. Keeps the smoke out. If you fly over central australia at night you can see out of control fires out in the middle of nowhere from thousands of kilometres away. At first you might think its a big city’s lights but then you realise its orange-red. Theres always fires burning unattended deep in the outback.

Sure you can drive for hours on end and see nothing but endless roads or you can actually stop and have a look around. We did a full lap with our caravan last year and another half lap this year. Instead of going across central Queensland you could have turned north at Cloncurry and headed up to Normanton in the Gulf country and then across the Savanah Way visting the Undara lava tubes and the Volcanic NP before coming out on the Atherton Tablelands above Cairns.If you wanted to experience some history you could have headed south east from Cloncurry to Winton, Long Reach, Barcaldine then over to the coast at Rockhampton. Did you go the mineral springs in Katherine, do a cruise or bush walk at Nitmilik (Katherine Gorge), Did you visit the stunning Litchfield NP, Ubir Rocks or any of the ancient aboriginal sites of the Kakadu NP , while there take a sunset cruise on The Yellow Waters Billabong ? Did you call into Adelaide River or Berry Springs, ? When you went down the Stuart Hwy to the Daly Waters and Larimah pubs did you know  Australias1st international airport was in Daly Waters which you can have a look around. Did you swim in the mineral springs or drift down the creek on a pool noodle at Bitter Springs when you went through Mataranka ? Did you drive 10 km off the road into any of the waterfalls/swimming holes or limestone caves along the way ? The impression people will get from watching this video is that there is nothing to see between Darwin and Mt Isa other than pubs or a couple of roadhouses and thats far from the truth. By the way the best roadhouse to stop for the night is the Barkely Tablehands which is half way between the 3 ways turn off and Mt Isa.
