Mauritius was nothing like I expected

Join me for a travel video in between flights, this time checking out as much of the island of Mauritius as I possibly can in a day. And for this day I’m graciously accompanied by Ravish, the First Officer from my flight in from Perth, who kindly offered to show me around his island. We’ll try a bunch of food, check out Mahebourg and its market and some of its sites and coast, head over to a shopping center for a bit of grocery store sightseeing and a biryani lunch, then up to the Grand Bassin Hindu Temple. I end the day in Blue Bay, before heading to the airport to take my flight home to Europe. I only scratched the surface of the place, but it was a lot of fun. Let me know what you think!

  1. 0:45 During the Olympics, an athlete from Mauritius was introduced and my family said they’ve never heard of it 😎so I told them it’s a small island east of Africa and Madagascar with postcard perfect beaches and interesting aviation choices to get there 😂 I probably wouldn’t have known either if it weren’t for aviation YouTube channels✈️

  2. 23:21 I enjoy watching the extra travel content. Idk if you would need another channel to separate them. Even though I’d watch both planes and travel locations, I think the video title, thumbnail, or description should say whether a video has mostly aviation content, only some, or if it is all exploring a destination 👍

  3. Hey gabe ' got the best job on earth…know mauritius from the '90 and stayed as crew at the shandrani hotel complex near the airport. Dont know if it is still excisting. Have a vibrant time and happy landings. Kai

  4. Went to Mauritius a month ago, very nice experience. You got the turquoise waters and beach resorts, but also towns and lovely scenery. Makes it abit more interesting, not only staying at the sunbed for a week.

  5. I think the mix you have right now is really nice. So please keep it this way and well worth repeating, your footage is stunning and mixed with those background vibes…so good!!

  6. Amazing video as always and Mauritius looks like a great place to visit. I think that it would be fine to have the travel videos on the channel along with the flight videos. They're awesome videos and whether they're on this channel or another, I'm definitely gonna watch them. ❤ from Los Angeles.

  7. Please continue sharing insights into some lesser known places – might inspire us to plan a stopover at some of them. And unless you publish them weekly I do not see a need for a separate channel. Screenshots calling out "24 hours in Mauritius" or "Hidden European Paradise" should make it clear that these are not aviation videos. But you might as well think of a more descriptive title for these ("The perfect day in" as in your video about Flores should do)

  8. Hi Gabe, I enjoyed this. It is gr8 to see a place I will never visit in person. Having a local show us around was an added bonus. And, yes, please do a travel video from time to time here, no need for a separate channel. RogerC 8/25/24

  9. So Good! Really gives such a great sense of the vibe of the place with the locals. Definitely will be looking for my chance to visit one day in the future! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
