Camping somewhere in the Southwest Desert. Shelters are a ShiftPod & Overlandish Basecamp. Had some big horn sheep investigate us. Watched 310 to Yuma on the screen. Was an awesome time!
Jesus that’s my worse nightmare. Stare at the campfire and talk to each other. No need to blast a movie on a screen in the desert lol

Unfortunately, the sheep are not miles away from your noise pollution

Nice bit of solitude. I’d imagine the stars look great and night and it’s quiet there , would love to be far from anybody but sheep right now as well. Cheers

Looks like you ruined some ideal stargazing weather with a massive projector.

If you were in a neighboring camp site I’d be pissed, but since you’re off by yourself, knock yourself out!
Also, great terrain for your film choice, but which version? 1957 or 2007? I watched them back to back over the summer and can’t decide which I enjoyed more.

Way to miss the point.

I can recognize the Sonoran and the mountains any time, any place.

This isn’t camping, it’s glamping with extra steps.
Camping is strapping everything you need for the trip on your back and walking into the woods. No vehicles, no projector, just you and the woods.
I didn’t mind the occasional car outing when we want cold beers and steaks, but I sure don’t call it camping.

Came to the comments to see some sweet, sweet sanctimony. Was not disappointed.
I should sell soapboxes at REI.

Looks dope! The projector isn’t necessarily for me, but then again I’ve never tried it either, so you do you. Either way, love the southwest desert!

Jeez, enough with all the judgement people!
There’s enough space in this world for us all to enjoy the outdoors in our own ways. This guy doesn’t seem to be doing this in a major camping area, or in close proximity to anyone else, so let him enjoy it the way he likes! Some people are sitting indoors in a stuffy apartment watching something on their teeny TV – this guy is in the great outdoors, with the stars as his ceiling, enjoying the art of filmmaking in his chosen environment!
Enough with the judgement, and all the “that’s not camping, that’s *glamping* stuff”. To each their own, and if they’re not doing it in a way that imposes it on others, then live and let live!
