So cool to see Mozart's birthplace! ππΆ
So awesome Darion!!!!!!!
Watched replay, nice video
Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart. Born: January 27, 1756, Mozart's Birthplace, Salzburg, Austria
Died: December 5, 1791 (age 35 years), Mozart death house, Vienna, Austria
ββπΊπΊThe fortress overlooking Salzburg, Austria, is older than America itself. The castle was built in 1021, that's close to a thousand years ago. If you put it in perspective, the castle is closer to Jesus Christ's birth than to your own. That's how old the castle is.
ππππππSo imagine waiting another 400 years before someone mass-produced the Bible, as Gutenberg wasn't born yet, and all Bibles were handwritten. The printing press wasn't even invented yet when the castle was being built.
The castle is so old that in 1492, when Columbus found America, the castle probably celebrated its 450th anniversary. It's very hard to comprehend how old things actually are, as that castle has been there and gone through over 25 different wars. The castle is so old that you yourself could be related to one of the bricklayers who set one of the stones.
At that time, the world's population was only 300 million people. Today, we're closer to 8 billion. This is why most people cannot comprehend how old things are.
Salzburg and Hallstatt are great, but you need to spend more time there than a day. Warning about Hallstatt, donβt go in January. One of the three times I went was in winter and I learned that the town closes down and many of the restaurants and stores close for January when much of the town goes on vacation.
