What to do in France – Matisse vs. Bonnard – Fondation Maeght great for a solo traveller as well.
Discover the incredible art world of Fondation Maeght, located on the outskirts of the charming hilltop village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Just 19km’s from Nice on the French Riviera.
In this video, we explore the renowned Fondation Maeght, Join me as I wander through the stunning sculpture gardens, including Joan Miró’s surreal labyrinth and Alberto Giacometti’s rooftop terrace. We then head inside for the Bonnard vs. Matisse major exhibition, highlighting the unique friendship and contrasting styles of these two masters of modern art.
Established by Marguerite and Aimé Maeght 60 years ago, the foundation houses an impressive collection of 20th-century artworks, making it one of the most significant modern art museums in Europe, and the first art foundation in France.
