I was married from Kalavasos many years ago, and would go back there once, sometimes twice a year for a holiday but life changes and moves on to a different chapter. Would look forward each evening to going to a little traverna owned by Stavros and his family to eat and drink and of course be "merry". It was very welcoming and not only used by visitors but also used by the people who lived in the village. Stavros got us a wedding cake and there were some little wedding gifts from the locals, the gifts i still have! There would be lots of photos on the walls including ours of people who had visited . It was lovely that you went past where the Traverna used to be, Stavros and his wife long gone but maybe members of his family are still there. It brought back some wonderful memories thank you. Kalavasos has changed a little, like most places do, but still a beautiful village. Who knows one day i might get back there.
