Belgrade Waterfront is an architectural abomination that most of the everyday folk consider to add nothing good to the landscape of Belgrade, and imho (and it is not just my opinion) BW is something of an institutional money laundering scheme performed by the structures that are in power for nearly 15 years. Sadly they do not plan to stop there.
They are planning to "nationalize'' and destroy an architectural gem (the Belgrade Fairground) which had the world's largest freestanding dome structure up until the year 1965. (from it's construction in 1957.)… now it is "only" the largest dome in Europe. Btw, it is protected by law as a cultural monument of great national historical significance.
The same status was once held by the legendary hotel "Jugoslavija" (opened in 1981) which was the most high end hotel in this part of the world (hosting guests such as President Nixon and queen Elisabeth…); The mentioned hotel (at the prime location on the right bank of the Danube river) is now demolished, and in it's place they are going to build a luxurious Ritz-Carlton hotel (which in itself would not be too big of an issue, but the plan is to build as well two 150 meters tall towers on each side of the new hotel. A residential one and an office one. The infrastructure will remain the same, and one would be able to pose the question if the lovely walkway by the Danube at this spot will be accessible to everyday people and their families.
I am sorry that this is the first comment on your otherwise enthusiastic video… But if you plan to leave a piece of yourself here, and bring a piece of it further on through your life, i believe you should immerse yourself in everything this wonderful place inhabited with open and welcoming people who will make you want to stay here forever, to share in their everyday problems as well their celebration of life.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaall this being said. I wish you the best of times and a lot of new friendships, delicious food and great rakija.
Dobrodošao. Prijatno. Živeli!
Wrong, very wrong
Well done, young man, how correctly you explained the situation in Serbia.
Welcome to Serbia. 💕
Hi, man) See you in Belgrade.
Btw Yandex maps works better here than Google)
As Serbian I have to say that Serbia is de facto dictatorship ruled by Vučić, president of Serbia who is authoritarian ruler. He is like those family bullies, he is nice and cultured on the outside but aggressive in the family. He sell Serbian natural resorsis to everyone Germany, USA, China, UAE…. Just for money and to stay on power. Meanwhile majority people work for 600 euros I have to say that people here thinks it's a poor, underdeveloped third world country and plan to immigrate to the West. Regarding Kosovo. As a Serb, I can say that Kosovo is an independent country. Serbian President Vučić gave de facto all power to the government in Pristina. It is part of Serbia only by the Serbian constitution, nothing more
You forgot to mention splavs, night life, Gardos tower, Danube bank and kafanas ofcorse
Welcome to Serbia❤🇷🇸
Serbia should connect more with the U.S.A. then Kosovo. So they can save spots at the beach. Kosovars are closer to Albania and are connected with Germany.
Nice video bro welcome do Serbia❤
How's the air in Belgrade these days?
There's no paintings….only in the script down bellow…. those are all mosaics.
Welcome to Serbia!
Are there jobs for foreigners in Serbia ?
You should have been here 1999.
Young man, the air here is not very healthy, you better go home.
It's nice how you brought up how Belgrade is similar to NY, I already see Belgrade as nightmare city, can't imagine what NY is like.
Sadly, as metropolitan city, Belgrade is also the least Serbian traditional city. Unfortunately, the situation in the country is not very good so many people look to get out. I can't blame them.
Serbians have a terrible reputation here but I never had an issue with ONE of them. I'm not sure I would move to there but congrats to you, enjoy it 🙂 Happy New Years.
Ау брате, ту си два месеца и толико знаш о Београду да не могу да поверујем, свака ти част!
Your American readers should know a few things about the Serbs. In 1918, after WW 1, the Serbian flag flew over the White House for a day. In WW 2, at the Halyard Mission, Serbian Royalists saved 500+ American airmen from the Nazis. The Serbs were American allies in both World Wars.
Somehow I have a feeling that you have to slow down and breathe.
As of January 1, 2025, all public transportation in Belgrade is free for everyone.
Rip
Welcome to Belgrade ❤
Im an American from Massachusetts and have lived here for 2.5 years.
However, I would say Belgrade is nothing like NYC….in fact it's better: cleaner, nicer people, not so much homelessness, very little crime, it's safe, and better night life.
Aside from that, welcome!
Let me remind US was and still is key enemy to serbian people…use time here to learn about history and suffer caused to serbian people by US Goverment…enjoy your stay…our food is tastier for sure

Thankyou❤
About 3 years too late to move to Serbia when it was still affordable. It’s amazing how propaganda can lure people into doing something as crazy as moving to such a place especially considering revolution that is cooking in their streets right now and the world’s worst pollution and cancer rates. Horrible move!
im glad you had the guts to speak about atrocities, most people gloss over the fact of what Bill Clinton is responsible for,and Serbians have nothing against Americans as its just a misconception but we definitely do both against Bill Clinton and nato soldiers that were involved in the bombing
well, welcome brother!
The Usa is Serbia's biggest enemy
Great video bro👍😎
Belgrade is the New York of the Balkans🗽
Coruption is glowing here, my home town, but I've moved to Austria recently. In few days I am coming to support protests against our government. You should join too, esspeccially cause you are a student! There you can meet decent, kind people! Wish you all the best
I did the same thing….two years ago………from Florida to Belgrade 😊👍!
brao svaka cast mislim da ima puno stvari nove koji su izgradjeni a niste pokazali veliki pozdrav za vas
Hi everyone! I am thinking of doing a livestream to discuss my experiences in Serbia as an American. Let me know what days work best for you and I would love for you to join 🙂
In one American movie it was said that Belgrade is Las Vegas of Eastern Europe. Of course because of many cassinos.
Welcome ❤
Zgrade se ne obnavljaju kako bi i nova pokoljenja podsećala na NATO agresiju zvanu Milosrdni Anđeo!
Pozdrav i sve najbolje!
Salute from a Serbian -American from Florida.
Thanks for the analysis! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Great video.
Welcome
It was a pretty comprehensive video of Belgrade considering all of the limitations (such as time). Well done, and I wish your stay here to remain comfortable and interesting.
If you have some time, go to the Avala tower or even the EXPO 2027 construction site. Both are pretty impressive, one a tower that was destroyed during the bombing and then re-built one meter taller, and one that's a huge building project where a lot of good stuff will be built. There is also another famous tower in Zemun, which is like a city merged with Belgrade, one that is from the time of Austria-Hungary.
