We are Richard and Jackie and we live in the UK. We retired from teaching at the age of 51 in the summer of 2022. Our plans for early requirement include relocating to the Yorkshire Dales, developing our forever home and travelling the UK, Europe and eventually the world in our VW campervan Nelson.

Some lovely looking sites. We stayed at Rackwick Bay in September last year, it was chucking it down and we woke up in the middle of a huge puddle in that car park 😂🤣😂.
I think my best camp spot of last year was on the Isle of Vatersay, honest box payments which I personally prefer because the money goes back to the local community. The spot we chose was right next to the Community Hall which has toilets and shower. The hall opens on a Sunday morning as a cafe when we were there and it was lovely. Best of all the spot we chose was just about opposite the famous gate leading to a fabulous sheltered beach. I so want to go back there.
We've done Orkney- one of our favourite trips to date – but your video has persuaded us to do Shetland!

Breathtakingly stunning and the beach with it’s dramatic shoreline, absolutely magnificent!
Totally reminds me of that famous scene with the attack of the dinosaurs in the movie „Journey to the Center of the World“, with James Mason, Pat Boone and Arlene Dahl!
That place is definitely one of the places I‘d love to visit during my lifetime and marvel at it’s beauty ❤!
And I sure wouldn‘t mind a tasty bite and one or … pints of fresh Lager in that quirky pub 😋🥳!

Hi both, great info, great places to stay. I wondered if you could do a vlog sometime focusing on the layers you wear for winter walking and the make, also the walking boots you wear Jackie, I wore the same boots for years, they were so comfortable, but I can't seem to get the comfort in my new ones, they are only OK for shorter walks. Have a fab ski trip, looking forward to seeing the vlogs enjoy 😊

Downsizing later this month from our 2024 motorhome to a 2023 campervan, just got fed up with attempting to park a 7.5 metre motorhome anywhere, so reverting back to a 5 metre camper
