    1. Sounds complicated and stressful with these entry requirements, some forms last 2 yrs, others 3 years. It is too bad there isn't more uniformity. And also, some places are ready and others not. I have a trip to Portugal, then a cruise to Gibraltar, ports in Italy, Spain, and France, starting in March. Some countries won't be ready till April when I am already on route. Geez!

    2. Looks like ETIAS won't begin until 6 months AFTER the EES goes live. So it's not required, yet. Just verified it on the EU website.
      It says:

      "ETIAS
Travel authorisation for visa-exempt travellers to enter 30 European countries
(starting 6 months after the EES)."

    3. This video stinks. It is so threatening however these changes for the EU have yet to be implemented and they still don't even have the roll out date for ETIAS.

    4. Hi , we will be visiting ITALY and Austria from April to mid May 2025 . Are we ok to visit without ETIAS ? We are not able to find the application in the website ? Thanks!

    5. US Road trip, Drama Free ? You must be joking. With the coronation of that Lunatic King Trump II on Jan 20th, 2025 there will be more Drama than you can handle my Lady. Just Watch 🙂

    6. I was thinking about a European trip for 2024 and 2025, however, with all the new rules, visitors' taxes and fees, and the current energy and economic issues, and the razor thin possiblility of war between NATO and Russia, I decided in late 2024 to go to Japan instead, and for early 2025 I booked a month trip to Hawaii. I don't need the current state of drama in Europe which will get worst this year and I am looking at a visit to Japan again for later this year.

    7. We will be travelling to italy in july 2025 do we only need ETIAS or is there other documents??? I am so confused…travelling was already difficult and costly and CDN $ being at what it is I am rethinking the trip!!!

    8. Expanding the Schengen Zone poses a significant challenge for long-term travelers. In the past, travelers could stay in countries like Bulgaria or Romania for an extended period and then return to the Schengen Area, effectively bypassing the 90-day stay limit. However, this is no longer an option. The recent expansion of the Schengen Zone now only benefits EU citizens, leaving non-EU travelers with fewer options for managing their stay.

    9. Your sarcasm toward the EU is unnecessary – the EES and ETIAS systems are challenging because they are bringing in a system that involves dozens of countries/governments/legislation and visa systems. We sail around Europe so imagine every small island in Greece (over 1200) now requiring the technology to receive international arrivals and require the technology to do so – until now we simply sail in, got to the port police and customs office and have our passports stamped – EES will require scanning technology and computer systems to track movement. Also consider that not every country has the financial or technical infrastructure to manage arrivals not just by plane but on foot, bike, motor vehicle and train. Germany/Switzerland for example are large wealthy countries whose borders only connect to other EU countries compared to say Croatia which is not as wealthy and who borders several non EU countries like Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia – so for Croatia all their border crossing have to have the new entry systems and trained staff to implement it all.
I don’t think you can even comprehend the complexity involved. The UK implemented a new system because they are only dealing with their own singular country so yeah they could do it quicker. Your sarcasm toward the delays shows just how ignorant you are to the complexity involved.

    10. What internet source or sources mention that travel insurance is required to travel to the EU? I can't find anything about that online and I have travelled to Italy the last 2 years without it. Also, ETIAS won't be required this year. Do the math. ETIAS goes into effect 6 months after EES goes into effect. And there is supposed to be a 6 month grace period when ETIAS does start. And EES still has no start date to give ETIAS a starting point. Zero plus zero still equals zero. Therefore, go ahead and book your trip. And as far as the travel insurance "requirement", it shouldn't cost that much and it actually is a good idea to get it anyway.

    11. People really need to wise up to the biometrics – face scans and finger prints – for entry. It isn't just about "progress" and "convenience". It's linked into longstanding plans by the EU for a vaccine passport system. Personally I won't be doing that and if it means avoiding EU countries, so be it.
