Hello. Have you been in Varna. My advice is to spend a week in Varna. 2 big advantages to Sofia – less air pollution and sea. As of the question wich town is the oldest – no one knows. One thing is certain – in Varna is found the oldest gold treasure in the world. You can see it in Varna Museum.
The rent is quiet expensive for Bulgarians but I reckon this is targeting foreigners
Well, fully furnished apartments are always more expensive than a fixer-upper. Also not the norm here really, because no one likes apartments furnished to someone else's taste.

Mmm I don't think so. Rent has gone up in the past few years, but not by that much. My apartment is just a bit smaller than the second one and it's half the price shown here. It is also in the city center and and fully furnished.
I don't appreciate inflating prices for foreigners, makes it more difficult for the rest of us to keep our rent affordable.

How are you adjusting living in the smaller spaces in Bulgaria vs. Canada? Do you find the euro size makes more sense or do miss the extra space
Property prices in Bulgaria are extremely overpriced. Actually Bulgaria is the poorest, the dirtiest and the fastest depopulating country in EU !! Тhese are statistical data and also my opinion. Really bad infratructure in the whole country, poor and dirty everywhere, extremely polluted air.
High quality of living? Maybe you mean very low quality of living?? Bulgaria is a mafia state, the poorest member of the European Union, the people living in Bulgaria define themselves as the unhappiest in the world.
I know a rarely spoken truth from a broker: You could change anything in the property, but you cannot change it's location and the surrounding infrastructure!
To my taste are the two first appartments. Note that they have central heating radiators and air conditioners. But I find them overpriced. Of course, it's a matter of negotiations. Especially when you are a cash buyer. I think an English speaking local broker by your side would be a good idea. Not only for the documents, but he/she could find any hidden obstacles you may not find out.

Overpriced! Plus the square meter is inclusive of balconies and outside apartment probably 20% less square meters. You didn’t touch on parking that can run an extra $40k for downtown! But Sofia is #1 Varna is summertime entertainment everything closes after that Sofia 24/7!
Hi, liked the video. The old apartments have the "real" m2, the new buildings have new calculations for making the space "bigger" in paper. The real size of the first two apartments is more like ~50 m2.

All properties in Sofia, Bulgaria do not have bathtubs. Only showers. In winter, the water temperature is low and cold. It is hell.
