BORDEAUX Airport to Bordeaux City Centre by TRAM

in this video I’ll show you how to get from Bordeaux airport to Bordeaux City Center by tram you’ll see where to catch the tram how to buy a ticket and the route the tram takes as it travels through the center of Bordeaux so here we are having just arrived at the Bordeaux airport most flights arrive at Terminal A which is where we are now we’ve just passed through security and are now heading through baggage reclaim Bordeaux is a relatively small airport and it won’t take long before you’re in the main Concourse area so as you go through these doors turn right and soon you’ll see this sign above you there’s no tram details on this sign but it does indicate public transport and so for now follow the arrows Straight Ahead after a very short walk head to the left through these doors you’ll see another sign beside it again with a public transport icon so head on outside till you get to the first road you do have the choice of a bus as well as the tram but it does cost more to take the bus and it’s around about the same amount of time to get to the city center you’ll see another sign here so just turn right at this point after another short walk you can see on your left the bus stops and behind the tram stop head on over the road to the tram stop where you’ll find a roote map located on the platform this is tram line a however this poster isn’t the full route for for this tram line as it goes right through the center of bordo all the way to places like like gardette by the way this is a terminal stop so it doesn’t matter which platform the tram comes into they all go the same route into the city center so if you see a tram here just get on board without a worry but of course we need to get a ticket so I’ll show you how to buy a ticket and your options for the different types available there’s a ticket machine on each of the platforms where you can buy a variety of tickets or if you’re staying in bordo for a while then you might want to consider using the TBM app this allows simple digital ticket purchase and Bluetooth tap and go feature on board a tram but let’s get a normal ticket from the machine I’m afraid it wasn’t that easy for me to get good photos of the screens for you but let’s see how we get on you have a choice of either French Spanish or English so we changed it to English by tapping the screen on the flag if you already have a ticket then you can reload it here this saves you 10 cents on a new card ticket however as this was our first time we selected buy a new ticket now you come to this Choice screen you can buy one ticket which lasts for 1 hour from the time you validate it I’ll show you how to do that once we get on board a 1H hour ticket should be enough time to get you into the city center and perhaps change onto a different tram line or even catch a bus too as they work on both trams and buses and actually even the river boat as well you can also opt for a 24-hour 48 hour or 72h hour ticket too and as well as a couple of other options we selected just the one Journey ticket now you can select multiple tickets if you need by pressing the plus icon and you can see each ticket costs €180 at time of recording in 2024 if you’re happy with the number of tickets proceed by pressing go to pay you can now pay by euro coins or with your card when we tried to buy tickets the contact list didn’t work for us and we had to put our credit card in the slot and into the pin so have your physical card to hand just in case list doesn’t work for you either when payment is made the machine will print the ticket and ask if you need a receipt or not the tickets appear in the slot below the screen we’ve obviously bought two here remember this ticket is rechargeable and you need to also retain the ticket for inspection if required all there is to do now is check the departure board and wait for the tram to depart here’s one coming into the station now like I said either platform heads into town so let’s just get on board here’s what the tram looks like inside the the first thing to do is to find one of these machines simply tap your ticket against the circle and watch it go green your ticket is now validated for the next hour if the circle went red then your ticket is either expired or something else went wrong and you may need to buy another ticket inside the tram you’ll also find a root map above the windows and on some door pillars remember you’re on line a a tram departs from the airport every 20 minutes and you’ll be on this tram for around about 40 minutes to get to somewhere like port de Boro so take a seat sit back and enjoy the trip I hope you find this video useful if you did please give it a thumbs up and I’ll see you on the next video enjoy Bordeaux
