This time, I visited the village of Séguret in southern France with my husband Matthieu in May 2025. The day we visited was very windy, so please be careful of the volume when you watch this video. The Portail de la Bise, located on the north side of the village, is a very old gate built in the 14th century and has never been restored! This is our second time visiting this village. It has been selected as one of the most beautiful villages in France. There’s a cute dog over there! The cute dog responded to Matthieu’s call, but didn’t seem very interested. Did you find anything interesting? Maybe he got lost? There was a very nice tea room! The interior was also lovely! We decided to come back here last. Next to the 17th-century bell tower is a 17th-century fountain with a mascaron (face-shaped decoration), which was once the village’s only water source. We’re going to explore the village now. Should we go right or left? We decided to go left first. There was an exhibition by an artist in what used to be a chapel. This looked like a restaurant. We turned back and took the road on the right. There were many art studios. We had lunch at this restaurant when we visited before. (Matthieu had completely forgotten! lol) This is a video I took at that time. It’s now time for a break before dinner. The bell rang at 16:00 ! We came back to the restaurant (or was it a café?) we passed earlier! Now we’ll head up towards the church. There’s a cat! The cat noticed us and came closer! I was able to take a cute photo of the cat with the new lens I bought when I returned to Japan in March! What a beautiful cat. Where is the church? It is located at the top of the slope. I can see the church now. The Church of Saint Denis in Séguret was first built in the 10th century. It was originally very small and faced east, but it was expanded in the 13th century and its direction was changed. The side aisles were added in several stages in the 17th and 18th centuries. The main altar, created between the 17th and 18th centuries, were reportedly moved from a rural chapel in the late 19th century. Originally a Romanesque-style church, it now features Baroque-style furnishings. I heard that you can see the villages of Gigondas and Sablet, which I introduced on YouTube before, from here, but I wasn’t sure exactly where they were located. Now we will walk towards the location of the castle. It’s a very beautiful, secluded spot. The view from the other side of this narrow alley is also very beautiful. You can climb up to the castle from here, but it takes about 30 minutes one way, so we decided not to go this time. Here are some photos I took on a previous visit to introduce the castle. Construction of the castle began in the 11th century and underwent numerous renovations during the religious wars. It was used until the French Revolution but now only the main tower and the western facade of the castle walls remain. On the way to the castle, there were lots of flowers and herbs, and it was nice that there were explanations in French. We decided to take a short break at a tea room we found on the way. This village feels like a hidden gem. Séguret is very hot and always windy, so I thought it might be a bit challenging to grow flowers. We returned to the tea room. Matthieu was looking forward to having ice cream here! The interior is also very lovely! The baked goods also looked delicious. There were many kinds of ice cream in this freezer! The ice cream Matthieu chose was basil and pineapple flavoured. As expected, the basil flavour was strong. I chose grapefruit flavoured ice cream. It was very sour, just like eating a grapefruit. It was really delicious. It was really windy that day, and my hat almost flew away several times. This time, we visited Séguret. It was a very charming village. 今回訪れたセギュレは、フランス、プロヴァンス＝アルプ＝コート・ダジュール地域圏、ヴォクリューズ県にある人口約770人の小さな村です。
この村へは、近くの街へ行った後に訪れました。

セギュレではまず、教会を探しながら村の中を散策していきました。
途中可愛い犬や猫に会ったり、5年以上前に食事をしたレストランを見つけて懐かしかったです。

教会の後はお城がある方へ。

最後には素敵な喫茶店で、美味しいアイスをいただきました。
