Beachfront Motorhome Pitch | South of France Travel VLOG | Part 5
We’re in the south of France. It’s 35°. We’re staring at the med. Come with us on this journey and stay tuned to find out what we get up to. Last stop was Malo Sanda Leage. Huge pitch, pool, river beach, and even wild ball sightings. So, welcome back to part five. And now we’re right down the bottom of France. We’re heading to our favorite site, Beach Garden in Maran Plage. Fivestar quality at a three star price. So, let’s see what’s on offer. Just pulling into the camping van caravan layby. I suppose it is at the beach garden. It’s all new. We’re early for a change. And this is all new. It’s all been done up. Before it was like a the walkway was just shingle, isn’t it? And like a little track. And now it’s all properly paved and lovely. I’m excited. Excited. Yeah. Are you excited? Yeah. Yeah. Are you excited? I’m really excited. Yeah. I’m here. Are you excited? Oh, no. You’re asleep. Time to check in. They’ve now got a brand new motor home waiting lane, which really makes things easier. This week cost us €400 for seven nights on a beachf facing pitch. Out of the three Les Mediterranean campsites, I chose Beach Garden because the pictures are much bigger. Perfect for a large motor home like ours. We’ve arrived at our favorite site and it’s better than ever cuz we’re on a different part of the site this time. We’re at a beach garden. But check this out. What a pitch. You happy, Sunny? Yeah. Beautiful guys. We’re here at Beach Garden in Malayan Plage. Uh, our view, as Becky’s probably just shown you, is immense. So, check this out. We are opposite the Med on a pitch. I think that one there is a Willie Bum Beach where that sign is. I could be wrong. That could be a Willie bum beach where you’re allowed your willies and your bums out. So, we won’t be going there because I don’t want to scare everyone with my bum cheeks. We came around there and then just took it wide and we’re in. Got loads of space. I was hoping we could go across the pitch really. So, we open our doors to the sun, but don’t think it would fit. So, one for next time. [Music] I think this site can take bigger motor homes because the first motor home we saw was a huge ML on the first picture. Maybe you need to ring advance and tell them, but obviously that’s probably at least 9 m. I would have thought. I’ll see if I can find it. That’s a twin axle motor home. And there’s another one there. So you can obviously get them in here. It’s a Viva by Casino. There’s a terrace restaurant up there. Oh, it’s hot. Spa. Resto bakery shop. Then swimming pools around the corner here. Arcade. Look how pretty this looks here. Let’s get splashed in. Very sunny. Very light. Yeah. This site also has a large indoor pool, perfect for swimming, rain or shine. Site facilities tour time. Come with me. Outdoor showers right by the beach. Perfect for rinsing off the sand. It’s just a short stroll from the pitch to the main amenities. Super convenient. Here’s the Elson Point. Clean, clear, and easy to access. And here’s something we love. A dedicated dog wash station for Sandy Paws mucky pups. Let’s take a quick peek inside the washroom. Check out the showers here. They’re really posh. Check this out. Really posh showers with a separate sink, mirror, handy hanging hooks, and everything finished in sleek marble effect. Very nice touch. This is the washing up and hand wash room. Same luxury vibe as the showers with loads of sinks, maybe 10 to 15 in total. Easy laundry here. Just pick your machine on the screen, load up, and pay by card. No tokens needed. This site has a brilliant baby room, toddler toilet, bath, changing table, and mini showers. Super handy for families like us. Back outside now, there’s a handy bike rack and a seating area. Perfect for a coffee or a cheeky beer. Here’s the entrance to Listro, the on-site bar and terrace restaurant. Welcome to the arcade. Flashing lights, noisy games, and the perfect place to spend a small fortune keeping the kids entertained. This is the indoor bar area. A great spot to grab drinks, snacks, even pett jane in the mornings. It overlooks the entertainment stage and indoor pool so you won’t miss a thing while you relax. Here’s the spa entrance when you need to unwind. Outdoor snack station here. Grab anything from a fresh cross on to a hot pizza, perfect for a quick bite. And here’s the on-site shop, perfect for those daily essentials. Motor home service point, water, waste, and you’re good to go. Our pitch also has it all. Fresh water, electric hookup, and a gray waist rain. Here’s the bin store. The French take recycling seriously, so make sure you sort it right. This is the dedicated check-in lane, perfect for motor homes and caravans. Super smooth start. Here’s the mini club. Loads of fun, games, and a huge play area with sports courts. It’s officially for kids five and up. But that doesn’t stop our boys from diving into the fun. Just outside the main entrance, you can hire paddle boards, bikes, and scooters. Everything for seaside adventures. So, tonight is the white party night. All dressed up, ready to go to party. But first, we’re going to have chicken and chippies. What? Not the best idea. Not the best idea for chicken and chippies. With sauce and we’re wearing white. We’re going for dinner with sauce. Know what that means. Look at the boys then. Let’s show me the boys. We’re very smart boys. So, we’ve come down the road to the other campsite cuz they do like KFC chicken style chicken here. So, we’ve got a bucket of chicken. They’re really nice. It’s almost like our not our favorite, but our favorite, if you know what I mean. It’s our go-to. Uh, so we’re going to treat herself to that this evening. The lady here speaks really good English. But mommy, she also understood my poor French, so win-win. Are you mommy? I never know it. It’s all part of the resorts. There’s lots of different restaurants here you can go to. Nice posh ones, fast food. The one next door we’ve been to a few times. Um, yeah. I’ll take you for a tour. Not today because we want to get back to the party at 8:00 the mini disco. Then it’s white morning in the camera ran out last night. So, uh, you didn’t miss much. The boys were tired. They had a dance and we went to bed and just watched a film. It was beautiful. The temperature here at night is the coolest. Um, even though it’s so warm here, it’s just perfect. But yeah, this is our view for the morning. I can imagine you know what this is going to be, but it’s really nice to wake up looking at this through the van. So, one thing I’ve noticed being on the south coast compared to some of the inland campsites is there’s a lot less mosquitoes and a lot less flies there. The last site which was in Milo, there was so many flies. It was unbelievable. very bold flies. And uh the one before that it was mosquitoes and hornets. And the one before that it was hornets and uh mosquitoes. So yeah, we’ve had a real array of wonderful insects. Have a look. Look. You ready for a good day, baby? Yeah. Yeah. You say we’re going to go for breakfast? Yeah. What we going to have breakfast? Yeah. Yeah. You ready? These messy boys look toys everywhere. They’re very smart, don’t you? Says official vacation fan club, don’t they? Yeah. What’s your t-shirt say, Sunny? Official vacation fan club. The same, you t-shirt say, Beck, you come show me what your t-shirt says. Nice and lay out head first. Yeah, I’m coming to get you down. I a mummy. Yeah, you are a mummy. Right, time to get some petty de jane, which uh we worked out is uh like a breakfast, a small food. Deja. Small what? Dejane. Small dinner. Yeah. Yeah. Cuz you can have deja de Jane as well. But yeah, petty de Janeire which will probably be quasant orange juice judon and espresso. I would have thought. Let’s go. This is actually the first time we’ll be having quasant on it since I’ve been in France for nearly two weeks. Scary draw. Uh for uh for civil play uh ve uh espresso espresso pizza. So pett has arrived. Let me show you what we got. We bought it for three because the kids can share. Yeah. We got croissants, breads, and we got orang and saff, and we got coffees. So, we’ve been uh dragged into the arcade zone, which is all on tokens or euros. Yeah. So, you can’t ride a motorcycle, and Elijah’s being married. We’ve come to the shop to have a scan. Trying to find some like rubber straps so I can tie something down. But we might have to go to a different shop. They sell toys, swimming stuff, flip-flops, food, drink, etc. It’s a big shop. We’ve walked up to the main part of Maran Plage now where all the bars and restaurants and tap shops are. So, we’ll have a quick scan cuz I’m looking for something as you know. Right. I couldn’t find the rubber straps things to tie stuff down with. So, I’m going to improvise with cable ties and loop them around each other on the legs of the error. That’s the problem. The camper era comes with really pants sort of tie down hooks. They just bend. They’re like really crap key rings. So, uh, I’m going to improvise with that. That should do the trick. I’ll show you later. You’ll be really impressed. Maybe I’ll patent it. There’s the new camper tie down. My plage sits on France’s stunning southern coast right on the edge of the Mediterranean. The beaches here are wide, sandy, and perfect for families. With calm, shallow water and beautiful views. A proper holiday vibe with bars, restaurants, and that relaxed coastal charm. And we made it into the sea. The sand’s too hot. Sand’s too hot. Can you believe? We head back from Maran Plage Beach to Beach Garden campsite. It’s just a short stroll, but as you arrive, you’re welcomed by stunning flowers and lush greenery everywhere. It really does feel like a little slice of paradise tucked away on the med. So, I managed to fix our camper to be able to tie down our camper uh area. It has these like pins through and then if you can see that bas like a ring pull it just breaks. All three of them have broke but I’ve used cable ties. I’ll show you what I’ve done. You see that one there? In the way cable tied through the hole then pegged it down. Job done. Follow for more useless tips. I don’t know if I mentioned but our neighbors lent us like a a proper rock hammer. Like a proper sledgehammer sort of thing to whack our pegs in cuz this is like sandy rock. So, just how hammering pegs is hard work. What would you guys use for this ground? Let me show you. It’s just this. I mean, they were really hard to get in, believe it or not. And then that one over there had to move because it was so sandy it was coming out. What pegs and how would you uh what pegs would you use and how would you put them in? Let me know in the comments below, please. Uh I’ve seen those um peggy pegs as well that go over these next door. I’ve got them. Gives you a lot more surface area. Try and see if I can get a picture. This gives you a lot more surface area to hammer in. I’ll show you what I mean. Them ones are if you can see them there. Yeah, peggy pegs. Too hot today. Uh anyway, look at this fish we got from the supermarket. Salmon. We’re having salmon and new potatoes. Look at that. The salmon. Yummy. Yummy. And the toppies and the view. We get to have a photo with Beachy Bear. Are we beachy ready? Yeah. Yeah. [Music] [Music] Good boy. I’m sweating. I got a photo with Bey just disappeared around there. Then we got the uh cabaret. Very hot and sweaty cabaret. Beck Beck and I are very matchy matchy. Very matchy matchy. I’m so hot here. It’s be 37 tomorrow. I’m not built for this heat. I’m built for eating. Cabaret has started. [Music] Fun evening had by all of us. Yeah, we had lots of fun. The boys are knackered. They’ve been running around the whole time along with dancing running around along with occasional stop to look at what’s going on. And then they’ve lost about 14 stones between them. Sweat sweat. It’s dripping off sunny. You had the best time. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Amazing. It was a fun night. Right. Time to go for a walk. Get some It’s beautiful temperature right now. Yeah. But get some sea air and then get them to sleep. Hopefully they should be knackered. I don’t even know what the time is. I need a we time. Yeah. Daddy needs a we time. Daddy needs a we night. It’s late. We’re trying to get the boys to bed. That lights just whitening Becky up. I could hear him. Sunny sat with me. We can hear the se. It’s only about 10 yards away from us. We’ve got the citronanella candles on just for a fact. And uh it’s lovely. You honestly, you can’t beat this. We’re in paradise. The boys having a great night. This place is the best for kids. Morning everyone. We’re off to the beach. It’s 30° so fine. It’s going to get to 35 today. So, get some early beach time for probably five minutes and then uh we’ll see how we feel if we haven’t melted for the beach. Yeah. Yeah. It’s a short walk from our pitch to the beach with private coded gate and a ramp straight onto the sand. Ready? There’s our motor home there on the beach. We’re splashing and splashing right in the sausages. The boys have got their sports cars ready. Tesla, you’re in trouble. Look at these ecoefficient designs. Baby, so today is Lron Lera. I don’t fit so much the big wash which I learned on the last campsite. So we found the washing stations but the whole bathroom here is the suite and that is absolutely amazing. Mommy, the love to stay up south of France when it comes to the quality. Get your you choose the machine, put your money in there and then this young lady loads it for you. There’s even a thing to put your things on. an ironing board. Flattening clothes. It’s weird. Why do we even have an ironing board at home? Yeah. Do you? So, it’s Saturday. We’re going to walk up to the other campsite in the main strip where they got the restaurants because uh I fancy something different. They’ve got a really posh restaurant here and then they’ve got like a takeaway, but I fancy uh something in between. So, uh I know where I think we’re going to end up, which is next to the chicken place. Um, but better the devil, you know. So, we’ve come to the campsite we usually stay at which is part of the same group. This is the Newville Florine. We’re just laughing at the pictures in comparison. So, unless you’ve got one of these pictures, it’s so hard to get like you’ve got to get into that pitch there and then Oh, it’s really tight. But the entertainment area and that up here is really nice. Many many fun memories this place. So, it’s nice to do uh nice to see something different. But yeah, I honestly the amount of stress I think and subconscious anxiety that was built up trying to get the motor home in in here was in which was which was uh warranted. If you’ve been here with your motor home and it’s over 7 and 12 m, let me know how you got on. There many there’s not as many here this time as uh as usual. So maybe that’s a sign. The ones at Beach Garden are so much bigger. Even the ones in the resort that aren’t on the beach facing pictures are much bigger and the road access is better. These nice little cabins and that you got all this up here. Check this out. This guy’s doing like a restaurant here. Then there’s a takeaway from the restaurant and then there’s like a normal snack bar. But they also do really nice cakes. We’re getting the Bolognese carbonara uh Caesar salad while Becky’s getting the drink. I’m so thirsty. It’s unbelievable. Better hurry up. So, we got our food. It looks really good. We got a little throwaway knives and forks so we can sit here and eat now. I’ve just got to find my wife and kids. Usually defined by children running children running around like crazy. Oh, no. They sat still. Amazing. Here’s the main area, bar area. I think it’s karaoke here tonight. So, it should be funny. Especially when the French sing loads of French songs. It’s interesting. Dinner has been served. Pasta, pasta, salad, alcohol, baby. So, this evening they’ve got uh they’ve got loads of telescopes. Um I’m trying to work out what they’re looking at, but be quite cool to have a look just over there. I can see I’m going to go look for the telescope. There’s a tape. [Music] Well, I hope that was impressive. I think that’s a first for mankind. So, it turns out we’re the only English people here today so far. So the the guy Quentin who runs he’s brilliant. He has to translate everything for us which is quite funny. But anyway to the boy [Music] secret French professors now on the karaoke. Michelle and Elijah. So, no karaoke. Even though tried Becky tried to do me in. I think uh if we’ have stayed any longer and I had any more vodka, I probably would have. But I’d have done like living on a prayer and expected everyone to join in and it would have gone silent. You know the bit where it goes and then just gone silent and I look like a prat on per they’ have done it on purpose. I bet you they could be wrong. Purpose. Hi. So, we’re heading back to our campsite now. Hi. Elijah and Sunny had a great time. That’s what’s wonderful about this whole thing. It’s all for the kids. As much as we get to drink and have fun karaoke this year, it’s it’s all for the kitty again. What happened? Climbed up on the stage bit and said, “I sing a song.” And he started singing Wheels on the Oh, bless him. He was ready for karaoke and he doesn’t even know what it is. Enough party over there. Party central at Beast Garden. [Music] Right, time to put the wash in and head back to the motor home. Play with the boys. Washing to be collected. Number 15. It’s ready. All right. Saturday night night from us. It’s been a great night. Let’s see if we can get these boys to bed. Say night everyone. Night. Night Ly. Night night. David has treated me to a little treat today. I’m going for a pedicure. Well, I think it’s a pedicure. It’s a foot beautiful treatment. So, I need it. My feet are horrible and they’re tired. So, I get an hour of pure relaxation. How exciting. So, Becky’s getting her feet done at the spa cuz they stink of cheese and they’re going to de cheese them. The boys go in there. The boys go in there. Go to the spa. You excited about having your stinky feet done, Beck? Yeah, I’m really excited. Look at them. They’re all over the place. No one knows what’s going on with them. It’s no man’s land. You should do a before and after. Yeah. Look at those. Here we go, Bobby. Look how po this is very jazzy wazzy. Becky’s done. Check these out for new feet. Yeah. Thank you, daddy. I just paid for it. I didn’t actually do it. Otherwise, they’d look like I’d massacred them. a full-on windstorm going on here. David was out walking and I just felt everything move. So, we’ve just had to have some help getting the awning in. I should have filmed it, but I was too busy holding it down. So, that’s in and we’re safe. Unfortunately, the neighbors um awning has broke. Is it broken? There’s It might have already been broken, but it’s broken. Yeah, they’re not there, unfortunately. So, we’ve had to while David went over with a couple of friendly helpers. Yeah. Really lovely. We tried to sort it out. So, we’ve got a British couple over there that have just helped us and a lovely man over there who’s now having a drink. Give it in. I will get David a drink now. Drink a drink. Well done. Save the day. Well done. Thank you, everyone. The nice gentleman over in that caravan helped us. That French gentleman, he’s helped us twice. So, thank you. And then there’s a British fan. He uh Thank you so much for your help. Oh, panic over. That was the quickest I’ve ever packed away in my life. Thank you to our lovely neighbors who helped us, but Beck and I tried doing it ourselves and it was just every time we tried to undo one thing, the wind was trying to take in. It was really I thought I was going to lose my warning, but um yeah, a few people jumped in. So, thank you so much. But warning, keep an eye on the bloody weather. Um because the people who helped us over the way from England, uh they’ve just had theirs ripped in Greece, I think you said. Um so yeah, so uh it does happen. Anyway, sorted now. It’s a bit overcast today and the temperature is so much nicer. Sorry to say it. It’s just been hot, hot, hot, and it too much for a little older. The wind has passed cuz that was really crazy yesterday, wasn’t it? So the neighbor’s awning’s okay as well. They’ve had it back out so it wasn’t damaged. It was just it needed a little bit of an adjustment. So that’s decent. And then tomorrow we’re going to leave site and head back north to slowly towards Khn. We’ve got another campsite booked uh which looks really nice in the midi Pyrenees I think they call it. So um I think I found that one on search for sites actually or Axi might have been the Axi app. Um, so I’ll put that online for tomorrow. So we’ll get there and we’ll have a steady journey up just after refueling cuz we’re running low on diesel. Um, but yeah, it’s been wonderful, haven’t it, babe? Yeah. See you tonight, though. Yeah, we got to see Beachy cuz we missed him a few nights, haven’t we? Yeah, he’s had a couple of nights off. He’s had a couple of nights on the sesh. So, he’s off. So, we’re going to go see the entertainment tonight. Get everything ready to go when it’s a bit cooler. And then in the morning, just get up and and go. We need to be off site by 10:00 a.m. by the looks of things. and we’re just going for a little explore now around Mai Plaz. Um, see what we can find. There’s a theme park uh nearby which opens up at night. Actually looks like it’s got some decent decent rides, a helipad for unknown reasons and a mini Silverstone carting track [Music] and crazy gold. And now we find ourselves in the little tobac near the beach prominade. There’s like a market on near here where the kids play rides, kids park and little fun fair rides for kids. It’s just closing up, but we needed a drink and uh we know this place allows kids and two uh allows us which is also bonus. It’s a shame the mist things aren’t on today. They’re quite nice. They basically spray like a mist of cold mist water and uh it’s very pleasant when it’s hot. It’s not on. Looking for fish and crabs in the marina. Very quiet here today. Very pleasant. See little crabs hiding down here. There a fish. There’s a crab there. Look at star. Star, if you’re a water person, you can hire uh jet skis by the looks of things and go on the you know when you go up in like a parachute and go over the sea. I’m not I’m not a fan of flying. Why is that relevant? Uh because obviously they take up in a parachute, but equally I’m not a very good swimmer. Uh I’m very good at drowning. So, uh, I’ll just stick to solid ground for now. Found the vending world of Maran Plaz. You can vend anything from pizzas to detergent to milk to cakes to commodity stuff to soup. you name it, they bend it. So, we’re going to eat outside today in like it’s a big like eery which is never open, but it’s open at night. So, um lots of different places to eat. I’ll show you. It smells good in here. Smells smoky and barbecue. You get your drinks over there. They got all the grills. I’m actually having Thai food. And then Becky’s having kebab. So, let’s check it out and see what we get. Check this out. I’ve got chicken pad thai with like the chickeny spring rolls. The boys got nuggy fries, nugies. And Becky’s got a tandoori chicken wrap and a pint of wine. How’s your new How’s your How’s your wrap, Max? Pretty good. Thank you. We have n um Thai noodles and uh the boys are having most of it to be fair, which I don’t mind. So, having a good time. Nice pasta. Nice ly. I’ll find a mini disco before we head off site tomorrow. The boys have got a babysitter. Two young kids are looking after them and they’re having fun. You can just see Eliza’s head there with his new friend. [Music] [Music] [Applause] has arrived. Thank God. Goodbye and thank you for the Bye Beach. As we head back to the motor home, the party still going on and we’re soon treated to a stunning moonlit view shimmering across the waves. Absolutely magical. So, it’s uh where’s the light gone? So, it’s about 10:30ish. It’s perfect temperature. It’s about 25°. It’s wonderful. And there’s some sort of major party going on at the next town act. I don’t know if you can hear it, but it’s like really loud. There’s like a DJ and you can hear people screaming. There you go. Wow. That must be thousands of people. So, yeah. Yeah. It’s like a big beach party bit. So, yeah. Anyway, we’re getting the boys bathed and then it’s bedtime for us and then we’re going to uh Yeah, they will. We’re going to get up nice and early. Yeah, I might do might go join him down there. Um yeah, get up nice and early, get off site, and get to our get to our new campsite with a quick stop for diesel and some groceries. So, I’ll catch you in the morning, guys. Night. Good old Teu lights. So, it’s time to leave Les Meds, which is a shame. We’re going to head to our new campsite now with a quick stop in the local town, Ag. So, I’m going to catch you on the next video. If you like this video, give us a thumbs up. You are a lovely family
Thank you for taking everyone along with you..❤
Love this video guys (as well as your others) 😎👍 how long are you out touring for ? We’re going to France in Sept but only for 1 week !! 😪 so, probably won’t be going that far south !
Have a great trip guys 😎👍
Love your videos and the whole trip. Very inspiring as we are driving to France in September. Can I suggest the pegs that screw in to the ground using a battery drill ? We use them. Amazing. Also, perhaps an external microphone as i did struggle to hear some audio ? Great work though keep it up 👍
Primo pitch , don't get better than that
Nice pitch ✅ don’t be fooled by awning tie downs, they are just a sun canopy and should be wound back in at night to be safe, I’ve seen one ripped right off a coach built at Garda, they leave massive holes 😃
Enjoying your French tour your videoing is very good you cover and show such a lot
Your boys are so cute are are having a great time happy days
The large mole you have in the left side of your chest. Think about having it removed while it is healthy. My Mum had one in a similar position and with lots of sun exposure in the 1970's it ended up turning bad and needed quite a large surgery to remove it and it's tentacles. Stu
