HIGH SCORE ARCADE BRACKNELL | Fun but expensive ! | VLOG & Tour August 2025

I can’t help you out of it if that tilts. [Music] Hey, welcome back to the channel. So, today we are in Bracken, uh, which is just west of London. We are headed to Highcore Arcade, which is a free play arcade. Uh, basically there is a chain of them, so there’s seven, um, in total, I believe, and they’re kind of all west of London. Um, so they High School charged £1250 for an hour’s time slot of gaming. Um, which is quite a lot of money considering, uh, Arcade Club in Blackpool was a fantastic arcade and it was £16 all day. And the same with Heart of Gaming. So that’s £20 literally all day. So you got like 12 hours. Um, so it better be a really good arcade for £1250. You’ve also got to play a pound service fee when you book the tickets online. So it works out 1350. Uh they do an hour and a half time slot during the half term and summer holidays. Uh and that’s $1,650. So it’s a lot of money. Um but yeah, we’re going to pop in. We’re going to have a look and see what it’s like. I’m going to meet Adam aka Rad Rides Rides. Um I’ll link his channel just below. Um he runs a theme park channel. Um it’s really really good. He’s got much better content than me with the theme parks. Lots of POVs and stuff. So um take a look if you’re into theme parks and give him a follow. Um so yeah, so I’m going to get over there and meet him. We’re going to get in there, have a quick look around. It’s gonna have to be a really quick look around because we only got an hour and um play some games. So, yeah. So, let’s go over there. Right. So, I don’t know what is going on, but there’s a train driving around indoors. Anyway, so this is the arcade. This is high score. The mall itself is a bit confusing. So, there’s lots of uh side turns and it’s not obvious where it is. It doesn’t have a hanging sign like the rest of the shops, but yeah. So, this is the arcade. Um I think they’re making an announcement to say that our time slot’s just about to start, but yeah. So, I’m going to uh just wait for Adam. just parking up and we’re going to go and have a look and pop in. Hopefully, it is worth the £1,250 we’ve paid. Right. Okay, we’re inside. So, there are quite a few people in here. So, I’m going to This might be a bit disjointed. So, I need to just make sure I’m not filming anyone else, which is totally fair. So, I’m going to stop here and work my way around. So, I’m going to start with Time Crisis 5, Dead Soul Pirates, which is a really good fun game. Played this at Heart of Gaming. uh Typhoon which is kind of like the it’s like a a weird VR mixy sort of thing. I think there are cabinets where you have got VR headset as well for this but not this one. Uh got her Hero Das first EX or Darius Burst, however you call it. They got Rambo. They’ve got some really good games actually. I they’re kind of tucked away and hidden at the back. Uh got lane master bowling virtual tennis four player. I’ve never seen a cabinet like this. This is a delicate gun game obviously. Well, it’s more of a three player unless you’re quite in. They’ve got this spherical display exotic adventure gun game, Lost Land Adventure. I’ve never seen this before. So, we’re going to have a go at this. I’ve never seen this. It’s like rear projected. So, it’s like a not rear projection, front projector, a projector on the top projecting onto this. I’ve never played anything like this before. Um, the graphics look kind of newer. I wouldn’t expect to see newer graphics on this, but anyway, we’re going to play that in a bit. Uh, they got this table like Pac-Man. Quite nice. It’s like multi game, by the way. Cute baby army. Never heard of that, but it’s like a weird Pac-Man clone by the look of it. They got this giant Nerf shooting game, which is very cool. They got two table hockey, large Hello Kitty. They got a couple of small crazy car games. These are really nice. Um, got like a mini weird dancing stage at the back and a few kids rides and a sideshow 1989 shooting pop like pop duck shooting game which is very cool. They got Luigi’s Mansion right in the center which is nice. What else they got? They got rubbish. That looks like a lot of fun. Uh, I’m not even sure what this is. This is some sort of like rhythm um skill game, but I feel like it’s going to give me a seizure if I play that. That is really like flashing. They got dance in the middle. I’m not sure what one that is. It’s just called dance. Just coming back to this. This is in the groove three. You guys know a bit more about the dancing games than me or the DDR games or DDR clones should I say. Uh we got a photo booth this way. Uh, got four player grid, which is very cool. This drone racing game, which is awful. Uh, if you’ve ever played it, you know how bad that is. I really, really didn’t enjoy that. Turn out Salvation. Here we got Super 3, Super Pac-Man, uh, which is the world, but that doesn’t look like Pac-Man to me. So, this is obviously a modern game. Uh, crazy, which is out of order. Big four player pong. Cool. All right, let’s go and see what they got at the back. There’s Adam. Give us a wave, Ad. No. Okay, he’s playing Time Crisis. Okay, we’ll catch up with him in a minute. All these guys come around here. As I said, there’s a few families in, so I don’t really want to film anyone. I’m just trying to remember what it’s done. So, there was VR games. Um, a lot of these games are the one like they have in some of the um, uh, Grand Overdrive and this, which I haven’t seen since I’ve been since, uh, Sega Joy. Um, it’s Maronic at the Olympics, which is, well, they’ve just got the Sonic one in Joy and basically run on the spot and you can do races and all sorts of cool stuff. Um, so you see down the bottom there. So, it’s really cool. uh the piano keys and they’ve got a speed driver for new generation over the back there. All right, so let go and have a look in the back room. So they got speed of light wish played that down in Brighton with Will three player basketball after the climax. That’s a very cool one. That’s a nice cabinet as well. I do like that. These are all kind of tucked at the back. Test the shrimp. They did have a video online of a guy in a Mario suit and a man in a Luigi suit doing a test strength on this. Um, so I’m not quite sure what that is all about, but I think it’s obviously summer holiday, so Mario has popped in. And they’ve got another one of the the the re um the projection games. Two in one that I’ve never seen. Maybe I’m maybe maybe I need to get some more arcades. I don’t know. Uh Artune Ultimate Street Racing. Oh, cool. Giant air hockey, but it looks like a big Pac-Man table. That’s cool. Uh, looks like they’ve got a multi. Yeah, they’ve got a big I mean, apparently they’ve got a homemade uh uh main cabinet or multi game cabinet. It’s probably probably one of those 28 in1 boards on there. A giant rear projection Tomb Raider Davidson. That’s a That’s actually really fun game. I’ve played that played that a few times. Um, a giant fishing game. Fishing two pro fishing pro two, should I say. Uh, I’ve never wanted to do that. I mean, I played obviously Sega Fishing on the Dreamcast, but well, we’ll have a go at that. Uh, surfly. That was fun. We might have It’s all free play, but we got to be quick. Oh, look. I’m on camera. Hi. So, yes. So, that one is not system. There’s camera obviously in that one. Uh, and we’ve got cruising blast Nintendo Nintendo Cruising Blast, should I say. Cool cabinet. I like the uh like the wheels. And then lastly, Terminator 3 Rise of the Machine pinball Harry Pinball. Um I’m wondering how well these been service, but we’ll have a look at those and we’ll have a play. Um yeah, so they do other things as well here. So I’ve noticed been going around. They do party and hire and things like that. And they do send out send u and quiet out sessions, which is which is really cool. So, I think they turn all the machines down or the all the It’s not major loud in here, but um it could be if there’s a lot of people in here. Right. Just quickly, while I uh while I’m here, cuz the ones we missed, we got a table, football, uh we got ski ball, dance versus zombies. So, I’m just feel like I’m scaring through the smaller basketball games. And that is it. Right, let’s play some games. Right, I think we’re going to start with a bit of pinball. So, I’m going to try the Day Harry pinball. See what it’s calibrated like. See how well maintained it is. That seems to be right actually. I just suck at it. That’s the problem. So, the staff in here were really nice when we came in. They kind of explain everything and they’re doing um I think it’s because of summer holidays or it might be that they do it all the time. They’re doing a a beat the staff member, so you can challenge a staff member at games. Um, which is really this sounds really good fun. And I think it might be just random games. This was nicely calibrated. It’s really nice to see the day Harry Machine here. The only other place I’ve seen this one is uh Medway, I believe. Medway uh pinball club. Then they’ve got the Terminator 3 here as well. But because we’re under a bit of time pressure to get everything played, I’m going to head on and play something else. Let’s go and see what else there is. So, this cabinet is so cool. Got two displays. Definitely having a good laugh there in the four player, but it’s quite difficult to I found it quite difficult to play. So, let’s have a go. Because the display is so big on this, I found this actually quite difficult to play. Uh I play this at arcade. So we go boss battle. So like games or dar you call it the giant fish laser. Okay. So what I’m talking about you might be able to might pick it up a bit more on camera. So if you can see where it’s in zone 8. See where it’s not quite married. I think that’s just the bracket. And al of course cuz there’s two screens. The left screen starts on the right screen. And I think that’s just that’s just way the way it is going to be. So if one of them one goes out of action, of course they’re going to replace it and it’s never going to match perfectly. But it’s cool machine nonetheless. Like it really is. Um obviously set free play four player game. And the overall cabinet itself is really nice. I think it’s a nice scooch that up a bit for you. I think it’s a cool cabinet. That’s very nice. Right, let’s move on to the next game. So we’re going to hit up some Luigi’s Mansion. So, I pinned I pinned Adam and you get these cool hoovers. Don’t know if you’ve played Mansion, but of course you get your your hoover and you got hoover out the ghosts. Have you ever played this? Yeah, I think I’ve only ever played this once. Right, let’s let’s have a go. It’s actually quite tense. [Music] You got around flashing first and then Oh. Oh, [ __ ] He was so angry. So, uh, what did you think of, uh, Luigi’s Mansion arcade? I I love the Luigi’s Mansion actual like console games so much. And I’ve played Luigi’s Mansion before, but always on like a pay forplay basis, so I’ve never got that far. It kind of does feel like you haven’t really got much control over anything, but I don’t know. I It is fun. It is fun. It’s a silly one. So, um, we’re going to go and try and find some other things to play now. Well, I think we got like half an hour left, so we got to be quick. Okay, we’re going to try surfing. We might actually be too big for this, but we’re going to give it a go. I think I think we’re a bit too tall for this, unfortunately. Um, yeah. I don’t know. Doesn’t seem like a great idea, does it? Do you want to try it? I don’t know if this is going to work. Is it actually going? It’s actually playing right now. Yeah. Oh, it is. Someone Someone else has played it and given up on it. It just does not feel stable, does it? It is like a really really poor Mario car. So, yeah, it’s you basically you move it locks. Yeah, it locks. I nearly fell off it when it locked. So, this this goes left and right to steer. Um there’s not much resistance. So, I guess if you’re small, it’s okay, but as an adult, probably give this one a miss. Right. So, I’m going to do a test of strength. This hammer’s so heavy. Like, I don’t even know. Right. Okay. Please don’t break your wrists. Oh, come on. I tried. I do. So, I do it in France. What about the high score? Oh, hey, high score. Yeah, I think that I I think it might be impossible to get 250. What do you think? Do you think you can actually get 250 on that? I don’t think so. I don’t think so. All three are on the same. Yeah. And I’ve never seen one of these machines that isn’t 250 as the high score. So, I’ve got a feeling this might be a bit of a sweet. We got some piano keys going on. I know some excellent piano keys player. I think we’ve got the the king of Redian sitting with us. So, we’re going to we’re going to watch him perform. No pressure. We got you. There you go. 174. And Andrew stopped. Excellent work. Excellent work. Right. So, we’re going to play try the speed of light. So, we can do two player. Oh, we uh instructions. Uh my buttons are not working. 154 to 124. I absolutely suck. Still, do you know what? It’s been really good fun. But the one of the downers is that you only get an hour. We’ve It feels like we’ve only really just got started and we’ve only got 5 minutes left. So, um, we could have paid the £1650 for the hour and a half, but it’s just a lot of money for an hour and a half for 90 minutes of games. So, um, yeah. So, we’re just going to grab a few one last game or something, I guess, and we’re going to bugger off. All right, to finish off, we’re going to play the world’s biggest Pac-Man. Big Let’s give it a go. One, two, three. Oh, I got the four. Did the four. Did the four. Sweet. Concentration has gone up. Now we are just on the search for the chained oak near Alton Towers. Yeah, that’s it. Yes, we’ve moved to the forest for this wrap-up. Um, it’s low. Actually, the arcade’s just there, but it was just a cool background. Um, so yes, that that’s it. That was um my high score arcade in Bracken. There is um I think there’s another like six branches of this um in different areas. There’s one one near there’s another one near you, isn’t there? Uh there’s like pool, there’s one in Dorset that just open one um I think further towards Wales. It’s kind of every over over the Westway. Um the the arcade itself was really good. Everything seemed to work apart from one gun on Tomb Raider. When I was playing Tomb Raider, it was just it I don’t know if it bugged out or if it was the gun itself, but it was telling me to like reload. It said it had bullets, but it was telling me to reload and I was like back and it was just wasn’t Yeah, sounds like a configuration issue. So, so it’s not so bad. Everything else seemed to work fine and uh I think there was the the only thing was the uh the photo booth. That was the only thing that wasn’t working. Um but apart from that, everything was good. Um it was as as it was £1250 for an hour and they were quite strict. As soon as the hour went up, they hit the lights and kind of put up um put an announcement out that the session’s over. They didn’t go around hassling anyone. They’re kind of waiting for everyone to kind of wait make their way out. But um yeah, but it was just a lot of money for an hour considering Yeah, as as I was saying earlier, um arcade club in Blackpool was £16 for the whole day. Uh and and it’s still £16 today and because of half term, it’s actually a 12-hour day there as well. So that’s really true. I got blue light discount on top of it. But all that really did at the end of it was it waved off kind of like the cost of the booking fee online cuz there’s an online booking fee as well. So yeah, so it works out £1350 and obviously with blue light it’s £1250. So um they do they do do different promotions and things like that but I think it’s still very it’s quite an expensive arcade to visit. Um if they extended it to like a 2-hour session, maybe that would be a better one. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, but that’s it. But anyway, we enjoyed ourselves for an hour. Um, what I would say is if you’re in the area and you’ve got a little bit of spare cash, then perhaps pop in. Um, but apart from that, I wouldn’t make a a mad mad dash to get down here from from f further away. Um, so yeah. So anyway, luckily for me, it it took less than 20 minutes to drive here for me. There you go. Yeah, it took me just over an hour, but you know, that’s why that’s why I’m here. But um, but yeah, but thanks for watching. Hope you enjoyed that. Today we are visiting High Score Arcade Bracknell. It hosts a big collection of games, shooters, driving games, DDR etc. There is plenty of games to try and some classics mixed in.

High score Bracknell is part of the High Score Arcade chain of arcades. There are a number of brances west of London, through to wales and the west country.

Entry is time based, offering 1 hour time slots for £12.50. This is much more expensive than any other freeplay arcade I have visited and I wanted to find out if High score is worth the price and if it measures up against some of the incredible arcades I have visited in the last year.
