Gourmet Paradise in St. Martin | French Island Supermarket Tour π«π·ποΈ #sxm #foodie
Well, hello guys. Welcome back to St. Martin and uh just a little shopping spree today. We’re headed over to uh one of my favorite supermarkets, food markets. Uh smaller than the other ones you’ve seen. So the we took you to Superu, we took you to Kafur. This one is called Monupri. You’ll see it is smaller, but they’re also supplying the boats and the yachts. So, they have a uh slightly higher end offer. So, slightly different things. And I thought you might be interested in having a look. Yes. So we are south of Mariggo. All right, here we are. Ice pack always. All right, welcome to Monovi. You see, they even have like dinner wear and everything. I wanted to show you the uh bread baking machine. So, she’s preheating it to baguette. It’s about 4:00 p.m. So, that they are they are going to make a fresh bread for dinner. And then often you also have roast chicken, but I think that’s more for around lunchtime. Look at the rosΓ© department. All right. Lots of uh fresh fruit. So as I said earlier, these are also supplying the yachts. So this have some really good stuff and we are here for this very specifically gaspacho. and more specifically different kinds. And this is currently my favorite. It’s cucumber and mint gaspacho. And then the traditional tomato based one. So we’re getting those. should get some tapenad. So, an olive spread from the south of France. Tapanad. And let’s see if we have some small carrots or something. Maybe a little cucumber. Oh, no wait. We have some cucumber at home. So, I’m just getting tabernac. No need for the cucumber. And uh this is good. The uh special leftover price. This is for the tortoises and of course cheese department. You can see much smaller assortment compared to a Subu and um CFO, but all French stuff. This is their meat department. Oh, the freezer department is empty. They redoing the freezer section. I want to try this. This is like a song. Just It has much less fat in it. It’s more like a ham kind of sausage. A ham sausage. Okay, let’s call it a ham sausage. And let’s get it the ham department including vegan option based from on lentils um chickpea and the other one I’m not sure it’s probably soybased different friend. This is just smoked salmon department. Octopus. Frozen fish. You want all different kinds of pizza including flamakushia and for our German friends we have Dr. restaurant but you have four different kinds. So we have topa pizza Oh my god. I have to check what this is. Frozen strawberries with white chocolate around them. Ooh, that sounds good. I see we’re rebuilding this freezer part two. So they changing some changing they’re working on the layout over here. We have delicious water. and some local eggs. So these eggs here are from Colombia. So local locally laid eggs. And to give you an idea, 12 eggs cost β¬549, which is probably about a little over $6. Getting some sour cream for my gaspacho. cat apartment. All kinds of vegetables. canned. So, this is the um hurricane food department. Look at all this. We have like duck in cans, comfy canal. This is like Gabes’s aisles. We have Cass, which is like a bean dish from the Tulus area. They have like tons of different brands. Oh yeah, we need coffee. We have one of those little coffee makers, the espresso ones. So over here, they don’t really have the curig one. It’s more like um the little capsules or the espresso ones. So this one is really good. It’s with um hazelnut. I like that one. And we also have our regular coffee maker with the beans. But, uh, I like to always have a backup for that coffee, too, just in case. And sometimes it’s just faster. The cookie department. Chocolate chip cookies. Oh, this is a really good brand. I think we have to get those. chocolate chip cookies and they are they have to go. So So we’ll take them happy to help. Okay, here’s the Asian aisle. I think we have everything we need. And I wanted to check the chocolate aisle. So, if you’re in St. Martin and you only have space in your suitcase for one single chocolate. Get the cotto. It’s actually Belgian. And uh get the palin dugle. You get that one I think at every supermarket. Trust me. Trust me. And we have plenty of that at home. So I’m not getting it now. But just so you know, thank me later. If you only have one chocolate you can take, this is the one. You need to know about cereal aisles. Generally speaking, over here they much smaller than in the US. Another super cool thing are the chips here grilled chicken flavor. Again, this is a relatively small aisle compared to the bigger supermarkets. As you can see, this is not as big of a supermarket as the previous ones we’ve shown you. And by the way, a lot of the supermarkets have gluten-free options. So, you will find some in pretty much every supermarket. Um, they don’t have the same thing all of them. So, one of them is going to have gluten-free pizza. The other one’s going to have gluten-free totalini or pasta. I think they all have like dry pasta. And uh so these guys here have the gluten-free tacos or fajitas trying to answer the questions that I get a lot on uh you know those uh online groups, Facebook groups and everything about St. Martin. So that’s a recurring question. But if you can get gluten-free stuff on the island, and the answer is yes. So, these have some French cosmetics as well. What do we have here? Korean street food. Look at this Korean. Ooh, spicy rice cakes. M. and more cosmetics. Loxitan from Province area. But you got you find a lot of nice cosmetics also in the uharmacies. Let me just grab a bottle of water. I know this sounds weird. It’s lemon, grapefruit, and rosemary, but I like it. All right. Okay, I think you have a pretty good idea. All right. Where? Also, okay. Mercia. The baget is ready. So that’s the monopree. Smaller than the other ones, but I like it. Thanks for watching everybody. Ciao.
