Pre-Show Live Q&A: VIP at Cannes Yachting Festival

Oh, there we go. Look at that. We’re live. Hi, 
everyone. Hi, everyone. Mr. Gidget says hi too. We’re all here and we are in Otranto, Italy 
today. We have We just sailed across uh the heel of the boot. We had a bit of a a little bit 
of a rocky sail today. A little bit of a rocky anchorage. Yeah. And um for all the Canadians on 
the chat, uh happy Thanksgiving. It’s Thanksgiving weekend. We’re doing a big big video lunch. Yeah. 
Cannes Yeah. So this is um this is a pretty pretty exciting episode for us because um we had the 
really neat opportunity to partner with Bali on this episode. And I don’t know if there’s anybody 
from from Bali um here on the live with us. if if there is shout out to Bali. These guys were just 
so awesome to work with and and to to partner with on this episode. And um we want to do a bit of 
a big special launch for this because I think that this is probably our best episode yet. Like 
I agree. Yeah, I think this is uh so much fun. Um you can see us having such a blast and I think um 
we put a lot of effort. We have a new video editor um that’s working with us on this um episode and 
I’m just very excited for you guys to see it in a few minutes. Yeah, Fahim the video editor just 
just nailed this one. It was really really cool. Really special. Yeah. Um so I guess a little bit 
of housekeeping. Um reminder that um the episode’s going to go live at the top of the hour here. So, 
in in 13 minutes and as soon as the live stream’s done, it’s going to automatically redirect you 
to the premiere and we all get a chance to watch the premiere together and uh there’s going to be 
a live chat on the premiere so you can you can chat and whatever questions. Yeah. Y absolutely. 
And it’s uh it’s kind of special because it’s kind of like we’re all going to the to the movies 
together and just gonna watch watch the the the big premiere all at the same time. So, that’ll be 
really cool. Yeah. Should be good fun. Yeah. So, yeah. And then, um, Chris was really sad. 
He was hoping to do this from the outside, from the for deck, but as you can see, the sun is 
setting really aggressively behind us, and, uh, you wouldn’t be able to see anything, so we did 
it from inside. We did it from inside. Yeah. Yeah. Um, I don’t know how many, um, Patrons we have, 
uh, in the chat there today. I’m I’m sure we have some. Um, so anyways, shout out to to all our our 
patrons. um your your support’s been awesome and um I mean we’re not, you know, making a bunch of 
money off of this or anything like that, but it’s it’s nice to see um you know, the support from 
the community and um you know, just just kind of helps keep us going and uh it’s it’s an important 
part of what we’re doing. I think it absolutely to mirror Chris, it helps keeps us going. It helps us 
buy supplies for our video shooting. It helps pay for video editors, uh wonderful music and those 
kinds of things. So, thank you for that. Yeah. So, uh, so, so anyway, so we’re going to go, uh, we’re 
we’ll do the the can episodes coming up here in a in a little bit. And, um, it’s it’s a little bit 
of a Mr. Gidget’s going nuts. There’s a boat, um, driving by. Yeah. With a loud engine on. Um, 
but the Cannes episode is a little bit different from some of our our recent episodes because it’s 
this like sort of event going on and you got the the Bali and the whole Bali teams there and we got 
to meet the the president of Catana Group, the the parent company to Bali and you know hanging out 
on on all the the big crazy super yachts and it was just like a really special experience. Um, 
even though uh we got to work with Bali on this episode, we want to iterate that, you know, any 
any opinions that we have are all our own. Um, and we get to keep, you know, full creative 
control over over everything we’re doing. So, Bali did not have any say or I mean, you 
know, we don’t want to upset anyone, but um, they didn’t tell us how to present our episode. 
Yes, that’s right. Yeah. Yeah. And, um, Bali had a professional film crew out um, at the boat show 
while we were there. And you can you’ll see in in the the the shots that uh there’s a bit of an 
interview going on and Mr. Gidget had his own like private photo shoot. Yeah. And he’s like a little 
bit of a celebrity now. Yeah. We can’t wait to see the photos. They were so complimentary on Gidget’s 
camera skills because I would be like, “And now sit down.” And he’d sit down and tilt his head and 
they’d be like, “How how how is he doing this?” And then there’s this one where he’s running 
down the four deck and I saw it in their like preview screen and it’s like all four paws are 
off the deck and he’s just like flying down the um the deck on the the 5.2. It’s really cute. So 
I can’t wait to see the photos they come up with for the for the interview. Yeah. So even though 
there’s a professional film crew out, um all the video work was was our own. All the video editing 
is is on team us and um so anyways, just wanted to say that. Yeah. And then as soon as the other 
one’s ready, we’ll link it uh below. That’s right. Very exciting. Yeah, we’ll put a little little 
link below. Yeah. Um uh YouTube’s got this new thing going on. I think they they just released 
it like a month or two ago. Um depending on what device you’re on and what country you’re in, they 
got this like brand new hype function. And so I mean like when we you know, the premier is going 
to launch and uh you know, we we appreciate any any likes. We appreciate any comments. And uh they 
got this new hype button that you know if you mash it, if you hit the hype button, it kind of tells 
YouTube like, “Hey, I like this stuff. You know, we should, you know, people should be seeing this 
this type of content.” And so all those things, you know, like the likes, the comments, the hypes, 
uh they go a long way to um putting our video in front of the right audience. Yeah. And telling 
YouTube the right things like, “Oh, I like this.” And so then they’ll start the algorithm will do 
its thing. Yeah. And especially the first 24 hours after after a lunch. um those those those likes 
and those comments, the the interactions uh they go a long way to, you know, getting the algorithm 
to do what it’s supposed to do. So, so thank you for all of that. Thank you for participating 
with us on that. Um every little bit helps. So, thank you. Um and yeah, as you can see, we’re a 
little rocky. Hopefully, it’s not coming through too badly. Um our anchorage is a little bit rocky 
this evening. We have a half-meter swell. Um, and it’s just because we’re on that um coast, that 
side coast of Italy where there’s just not a lot of coverage. So, we’re in probably the last cove 
of coverage going up the coast of Italy. Yeah. Yeah. So, pretty cool. Yeah. So, I don’t know if 
anyone has any any questions or or comments about the um the upcoming episode. It looks like we have 
19 people online right now. Yeah. Yeah. Or what’s this one here? No, I I think this is it. Yeah, it 
says 19. So, hi everyone. Oh my goodness. Um yeah, feel free to put your messages in if you have 
any questions for us. Uh life aboard um things that we do. Um perfect. Oh, that’s um that’s Russ. 
Hey Russ, how are you? Happy Thanksgiving. Um one of the things that I wanted to talk about was the 
logistics behind us getting to can. So of course, uh Bali paid for our expenses to go, which was 
lovely. Um, but we had to figure out how to get there and unfortunately we were on the bottom tip 
of Sicily. Um, so it meant uh no direct flights to can. Um, so that was a lot of fun. Um, because uh 
it was a bus to a plane to another plane to a bus to a cab. Something like that. Something like 
that was one one way. And so we had a epic day of travel that started about what 4 am something 
like that. Very early. Uh we had interactions with um the Sicilian mob. Yeah. Yeah. Which was 
interesting. Um our seats got commandeered by what we think were Sicilian mob members. Yeah. 
We omitted some of those details in the video. Video. Yeah. Um but uh they reassigned us our 
seats very quickly and we stayed on the flight which was lovely. Um and so yeah, so that was an 
interesting day of travel and then of course we did that in reverse. So um we were so thrilled 
to go but it meant for a uh very interesting travel days. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It was um you know 
we’ve been on the boat for a year now or almost a year 11 months and I think the you know we haven’t 
worked much at all since we got out here but the whole like trip to can with all the camera gear 
and it was like it was so regimented because we had like interviews and scheduled filming times 
and the drone flight was scheduled and it was just this like this this production. There was a 
whole production about it and I think it was the probably like the first time since we left that 
it felt like work, you know, like it felt like a little bit like a job. Yeah. Mostly because 
it was so regimented. We had a great time, but it was just like you had to be you had all 
your time accounted for and so I think that felt a little bit like we didn’t have our own free time 
uh to explore and things like that. Yeah. So, it’s pretty cool. So, yeah. So, I think we got uh got 
just a few minutes left. Yeah. Let’s see. I think we cover most of our notes. I think so. Oh, does 
it do we say it’ll automatically redirect? Yeah, it’s going to automatically redirect everyone

Yeah. So, so pretty cool. And then um we’re we’re in the process uh we’re just finishing up editing 
on um on uh uh another video where we do like a full walkthrough tour of the Bali um 5.2 boat. So, 
that’ll be coming out um probably in the next week or two, I think. Y Yeah, it’s uh it’s very very 
close to being finished. And for those of you who’ve been on our boat comparatively, uh so we 
have three cabins. This was a six cabin boat. Um the master bad bedroom had two doors we could open 
out towards the outside of the boat and then of course the inside of the boat. Um the kitchen was 
massive, like double the size of our kitchen. Um and uh yeah, it was just it was unreal to be on um 
a much larger boat than ours to see what was going on and how they used the layout differently. It 
was a very special experience and Mr. Gidget was right at home like he was just running around 
it like it was own his own boat and we had to keep an eye on him because um like it it was just 
cleaned, right? So So um little little backstory here. When we got into Cannes we were there on 
the very first day of the Cannes Yachting Festival this is like the biggest boat show in the world 
and we were there for the world premiere of the Bali 5.2. This is the first time it was shown to 
the public and we were there before the open of the boat show and we were the first people on the 
boat like filming our our tour and it was really really magical. Like we we filmed a tour of the 
boat. We were literally the first people on it. Not like like okay like not the first people 
ever the first non Valley team members that were on the boat. It was an extremely special 
experience. Yeah. Yeah. It was really cool. Um, they of course had everything done perfectly for 
interior decorating. Um, and it was just really well done. They had it really well presented for 
the boat show. Obviously, they do this every day, which is wonderful. But it was nice to see it 
again. Um, living on a Bali and being like, “Oh, yeah, that’s cool.” And, “Oh, that’s really neat.” 
And these are Yeah. So, that was a lot of fun. Hi, Jacquie. Happy Thanksgiving. Yeah. There’s your 
your mom down there. Oh, yeah. Perfect. Yeah. Um, no. Yeah. So, we had such a great time. Um, and 
yeah, it was really cool to be on the larger boat and to see how they use the space differently. Um, 
the flybridge upstairs had its own um like sink and um like refrigerator, which was really cool. 
And so, and then two different areas to lounge, which was a lot of fun. Yeah, the the boat was the 
boat was huge. I I wouldn’t say that we want a new boat, but the boat was extremely nice. If we had 
if we had a big family or a lot of people on board or we were doing charters or something, if we were 
doing charters, Bali 5.2 was amazing. Yeah. Um it is much more we we have much more boat currently 
than we need uh with the two extra cabins because we don’t have friends enough. Um but uh the 5.2 
was just massive from a perspective of having guests. Yeah. So, it really only makes sense if 
you have guests. Okay, we got we got just like one minute left here, so we’re gonna get ready to end
