East meets West on wheels – Istanbul got us hooked | TRAVEL VLOG

Right after we parked our car safely
and dropped our luggage at the hotel, we went straight to the city center
to discover Istanbul. After walking across the city, we got
hungry and found a real cool place. Apparently a hidden gem because
we only met locals there. In the afternoon, we visited the Basilica Cisterna, an ancient cistern built by the Romans
in the 3rd century for water supply. The next day, we got on a hop on,
hop off tour to see the places we couldn’t reach by foot, which
was so cool and so convenient. Later that day, we strolled through another part of the city and discovered a bazaar
away from all the crowds. We just checked out of our hotel from
Istanbul and went back to the car and it was still there perfectly fine. So
we paid at the exit of the parking which was cheaper than we expected but
still fine. And now we’re heading to a supercharger in Istanbul to charge our
car. And then we’re heading to Cappadocia. We just left Europe and now we’re in Asia
and Peter just mentioned that I think Istanbul is cooler than
London because it’s cheaper, you get more diversity, the food. Well, I haven’t
been in London in like 10 years or so. So, my experience is from 10 years ago. I remember when being in London
like I was in London three times. Last time probably three years ago
and the food in London was like a lot of pies and a lot of Irish
and savory breakfast. But yeah, here in Istanbul, it was Yeah, it’s just really a lot of diversity and so much
vegetables and greens and eggs and beans and of course a lot of white bread but
yeah, it’s just um a lot to choose from. And here it’s cheaper. The people are
friendlier, I think. Still, it’s Istanbul is a crazy big city. Yeah, it’s big but I like it. Like, it’s so big. Let’s just turn around. So big. I’m so excited about going to Cappadocia
and that fairy tale landscape and those chimneys and the hot air balloons.
Yeah, I’m super super excited. Sunrises and sunsets. Yes, definitely. So, see you there.

From road trip to romance in Istanbul. We wandered through ancient cisterns, found hidden bazaars and tasted our way through the city. Istanbul had us at hello.
