Insulated tarp idea

Had a few early October nights was quite chilly, not unbearable but low 40s. Too early to break out wood stove. And the convenience of my 45 degree bag which gets down to about 6x6x6 opposed to my monster 15 degree one is tough to ignore. I had the idea of getting one of these insulated tarps and wrapping/ draping it over my tent to trap heat in. Any thoughts on this or has anyone tried it out?
