8 day guided tour with Saiga. Constant security detail with us, couldn’t even roam independently at the ruins. Watched some of a rehearsal for the National Museum grand opening at the Red Castle in Tripoli, but just missed being able to visit the museum ourselves. No other tourists in sight anywhere. Saw Sabratha, Leptis Magna, and from Tripoli to Ghadames, nowhere to the East.

Good stuff, can you list the locations of the photos?
Good pics.
Beautiful pictures!
Wow! That looks incredible
How was the safety and security? Did you feel the constant armed detail was necessary?
How was it getting a visa?
I’ve never heard of Saiga, how are they as a company to travel with?
The Russian tank is an interesting touch. Very good pictures
Did you go through a tour, or did you do this on your own?
Goodness. Your photos are stunning!!
Amazing place!

How was it?
Who was your guide? Ben C was my guide in North Korea a few years ago. Great guy.
Great photos! Libya is definitely on my bucket list

Lovely ..I would love to visit Libya
A rarely visited country. I’d love to go.
If anyone is particularly interested in the granaries there are similar structures in southern Tunisia and it’s a bit easier to visit, you can just fly in and rent a car.
The Star Wars one is being converted into a hotel so it’s lost a lot of original charm, but is an unusual place to stay: https://maps.app.goo.gl/kwFEjkS7a111DN2E7
I visited https://maps.app.goo.gl/G2eYJ9XbahPkXHKr7 which is mostly empty but has a gift shop. There are also a few on tops of hills, like https://maps.app.goo.gl/DzPd6hKq42YjAnWn6
In general you can just punch Ksar into google maps and make a big road trip out of it.
Country demolished by the US and the UK
Would it be correct to say that Ghadames is the furthest south you visited?
How was the food?
Great pics, thank you for sharing.
