We Drove the Real Paris-Dakar

We drove the real Parisโ€“Dakar rally tracks from Europe to West Africa.
Following abandoned Dakar routes through Morocco, Mauritania, and Senegal, we overlanded across deserts, dunes, and some of the most remote tracks in Africa. No race teams, no support trucks โ€” just our Toyota Hilux, our dog Lewie, and the original Dakar spirit.

    Is the Parisโ€“Dakar really gone?
Or is it still alive out there in the desert?

    1. I (Patrick) edited everything myself; from the story and edit to color grading and animations.

Iโ€™d love to know what you think. Does it feel different this time?

Weโ€™re also working on our Parisโ€“Dakar Overland Book โ€” now available for pre-order with 50% off ๐Ÿ‘‡

      Thanks for watching ๐Ÿค

    3. few people like you have that kind of freedom you are the lucky ones…all other rich and poor are stuck – spining wheel for nothing…we serve the material things all our lives .You are so free! thats a real freedom .

    4. We recently discovered you; we've been watching your videos on Central Asia! They're magnificent. We also traveled the old Silk Road, but in a camper, so we didn't get to do much off-roading!
On this trip to Africa, I saw places I'd never seen before; the colored pools in Senegal look like a painter's palette!
The quality of your videos and editing is incredible!
I'm also a big fan of drones, and you guys are really good with the shots! A little too high at times. ๐Ÿ˜œ Thanks, and safe travels!

    5. Amazing video! The storytelling narration combined with the song and African music made it truly epic. This deserves to be a Netflix special. As a new YouTuber starting my adventure journey, thank you for inspiring us all. Keep doing what you doโ€”youโ€™re both truly amazing.

๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

    8. As always guys you are made an amazing video but you are scared me to death and I said that because you also said in the video that many professionals in the rally Dakar have lost their lives and for doing this trip it was to me very risky but i am very happy that you are alive with gathering all that experience you wanted so much for a long time ago.I want to ask how many kilometres was the entire trip and how much money did you spend on gas so if i have the money and the time to do this trip but with a professional local guide with me

    9. Should have fitted long range fuel tanks for this trip guys. Also itโ€™s recommended to travel light in these areas with mainly the essentials – fuel, water, spare parts etc.

      Good adventure nonetheless ๐Ÿ‘

    10. Sorry for pointing this out: There is not THE Dakar route! Every Dakar since 79 has a different route, of course, as the navigation is the very critical part of winning or loosing this rally.
The Dakar itself is also not a very tricky route, as we know you can drive that in 2WD, as the Buggies do. The SPEED is what brakes parts and makes it dangerous.
In the "good old days" Trucks were allowed to run full speed! Which equals over 200km/h measured in some speedy sections. You can find video material when trucks overtook cars.

Besides that: Great views you have been sharing. THX.

    12. Some incredible views! And you are so brave driving miles in the desert by the train. i thought the drone shots of the salt extraction pools were amazing! Thanks!
