LINDOS RHODES – The perfect Greece holiday destination

LINDOS RHODES – The perfect Greece holiday destination
Come with me as we explore the greek village of Lindos, to take a look at the tourist attractions, shops, restaurants, bars, and of course the beaches. This place is incredible!

Lindos is a mesmerizing blend of ancient history and cosmopolitan charm, defined by its iconic whitewashed houses and the towering Acropolis that guards the village from a 116-meter cliff. As you navigate the car-free, labyrinthine streets, you will discover a shopper’s paradise where bazaar-like stalls and boutiques offer everything from handmade leather sandals and intricate lace to local pottery and traditional Rhodian jewelry. The village center acts as an outdoor mall, inviting you to get lost among its pebble-mosaic pathways while hunting for unique souvenirs like Koriantolino, a local spiced ouzo.

The coastline of Lindos offers two distinct but equally stunning experiences for beach lovers. Lindos Main Beach, located in a crescent-shaped bay just below the village, features soft golden sand and shallow, turquoise waters that are perfect for a relaxing swim or paddleboarding. On the southern side of the Acropolis lies the picturesque St. Paul’s Bay, a nearly enclosed rocky cove famous for its emerald waters and a tiny white chapel that makes it a popular wedding destination. Both spots are well-equipped with sun loungers and offer a variety of water sports for those seeking a bit more action.

As the sun sets, the village transforms into a vibrant culinary hub where rooftop dining is the standard. Renowned restaurants like Mavrikos and the gourmet Cesar Meze Bar serve up fresh Mediterranean seafood and traditional Greek staples like moussaka and souvlaki, often with spectacular views of the floodlit Acropolis. For a more casual evening, you can find a wealth of lively bars and cafes tucked into the narrow alleys or perched on terraces, such as the elegant Cozze Champagne and Cocktail Bar or the Rainbird Bar. Whether you are enjoying a craft cocktail or a local beer, the nightlife here is sophisticated yet relaxed, perfectly complementing the timeless beauty of the surroundings.

    1. Lindos is a different, magical, town in the evening after the day tourists have left. The streets have a medieval feel and you can eat at rooftop restaurants with the Acropolis floodlit.

    2. Love Lindo's stayed there a few years ago now, it's true it isn't as busy at night, just the locals and residents. It gets more day visitors, it's great at night because the shops stay open late but you don't get all the crowds. But there's enough people around for a great atmosphere πŸ₯°

    3. Lindos is lovely 😊 It'll be 18 years in June since I was there. It was where my youngest son got married on the far side of that cove 😊
The acropolis is worth a visit. I enjoyed it anyway 😊
