Woohoo, a video to start my Saturday elliptical workout with🎉
Im a sucker for the small French towns. Thanks
Visited their in our 2022 tour of France and it was a beautiful little town. Great harbour and delicious mussels. Would definitely return to again. Thanks for the memories!
We loved Honfleur!
Very good. You seem really happy and I love the places you are going. Well done
Love quaint boating towns. Grew up in Newport RI.
13:19 chocolate on a stick🤔😳 We would chase each other with something similar as kids.
Ment to ask how are your water bottles holding up with the uv lights?
Sorry to disappoint you, but google translate is not free 🤷♂️
Google isn’t the salvation army and you pay with all your datas.
Not even refills in the US are free. Everything is included in the calculation.
Honfleur looks absolutely charming. We love how you took your time and focused on the feeling of the place – that’s what makes towns like this truly memorable. Lovely video, thanks for bringing us along.
Great food there. It’s looks beautiful a lot of French cities are beautiful I love Italian food too though
Carrie, did you finally get your new sweatshirt? ☺ What a beautiful harbor town! We'll be driving to Normandy this March, so we just might need to make this stop. Another great video. have fun!
Now all the cool kids are wishing they were as cool as you guys!
It's funny because I'd make the exact same choices as you, but I'd replace the beer (I hate beer) with hot chocolate!!!
What a beautiful town. You must have been so happy to see the bathroom map 😂
You guys are inspiring just by living your exceptional lives. Thank you
I could spend months in French small cities and towns, even the midsize cities.. they hit just right for me, especially in the shoulder seasons. Definitely need to visit more of them.
We visited Honfleur in April 2025. We loved the old world charm of the architecture and cobblestoned streets and the cute shops to explore. Like you, we are frugal travelers, but agree that Honfleur was worth the indulgence. You reminded us how much we enjoyed sipping a cold Leffe while watching the sun set! Wishing you safe travels!
Yes, France is great! Just be somewhat aware of the fact that being "polite" isn't being polite, but rather their "social code", applied to everyone regardless of where you are on the society ladder. Anyway- a very big difference there is between the reputation of the French and how they actually are….(Maybe the biggest?)
So awesome! Thanks for taking us along guys!
Honfleur looks similar to Brest, also old, charming and beautiful.
Really enjoyed this episode. What time do you try and leave the ship for day trips?
Honfleur was a vibe. One spring, when my best Parisian friend and I needed a rest from Paris, we zipped to Honfleur in her car to have lunch there. She knew of a small, traditional, free-standing restaurant that was known for fish dishes and frequented by locals.
I could actually see myself spending at least 3 relaxing days in Honfleur. I'm glad you got a chance to experience it.
Greetings from Los Angeles
90% of the time I have found that walking around a town like you guys do is more enjoyable than doing one of the Cruise Excursions. Usually with the excursions you end up paying a ton of money and spend most of your time on a bus. I have done the Free walking tours and those are usually great.
Thank you for another great Saturday morning video!!
As I have gotten older, big cities become less appealing. Smaller cities and towns tell the real story of a country.
We took an excursion from Le Havre cruise terminal to Normandy where we experienced everything about day and then visited the cemetery where so many soldiers are buried which was fantastic and on the way back to the ship our guide stopped in Honfleur and gave us 2 hours to visit the very quite town which we loved.
What a cute little town! This morning’s stick is a Dunbarton Sobremesa. I grabbed a bunch of Dunbartons before Jan 1st because with the new cigar laws here in California, a bunch of brands pulled out of the state completely. My wife and I are counting down the days to our move to Florida – July 2027. But enough about that… I’m more curious about the sticks you have lined up!
Thanks for the video. Years ago a French person cautioned me to “not judge the French by the Parisiennes”. Very true. I have discovered this to be true in places like Bordeaux, Dijon or Normandy. Blue sky and warm temps always make any place seem more attractive! Cheers to both from Punta Arenas CH.
I had a similar experience way back in 1995 where I found the people in France (Paris, specifically) to be pretty friendly while those in a not so distant capital city maybe with a reputation for manners and politeness weren't so friendly.
Such a cute town, thanks for sharing
3:50 I have similar pack tight bags but thrifted for a few bucks. Mine have a business logo but they are so perfect for trips.
Thrift stores are now full if travel gear from folks probably buying during our covid days.
Wow, definitely adding some of these charming towns in Normandy to my list. What a great video tour! Thanks!
Where would you recommend visiting for 2 nights 3 days flying out of Faro Portugal in early April hoping to avoid winter weather?
The translation of this video said “Seed Summit” backpack. Im sure that’s not it. What is the name of the company that makes Brian’s backpack?
I really love the videos you two make. I follow other "travel couples" but I get the most value and enjoyment from yours..I have also learned so any tricks to make travel easier, so thank you very much!
So excited watching your Honfleur video. Flying in from Australia, we flew into Paris early 2024, picked up a rental car and we spent our firat 2 nights here.. so pretty. Had a great market that sprawled throughout the town on the Saturday as well. It is a place we'd love to come back to. That was our 2nd visit to Europe (mostly France and Germany) and most of the places visited were only small towns like this. Google maps must have taken us on every small and cross country road possible! Was such a memorable visit. I think that was when i started watching your videos.. after Nuremberg being a town i was researching. Me and my husband are in our mid 60's and we love to travel.. though usually by car, a few weeks at a time. Thanks for all your hard work with the filming. ❤
I love your videos. You both are so down to earth and not pretentious. Enjoy your trips!!!
I love Honfleur. That church is unique as it was built boat builders, hence the ceiling looking like an upside down boat. It was originally just one side, then after they got more funds, they built the second half. The one across the street is the bell tower for the church
Hello, Fun fact, the sweets you admired in the shop window—puffed rice covered in white chocolate and fleur de sel—are called "seagull droppings"
Thanks for the bus tip, but where did you start from? Where did your cruise dock?
I love France. Paris in two days? No way.
