i used to work in that building.
one of the nicest perks of that job is still being able to say that 30yrs later, because it shows up a fair amount in media.

Have to laugh that the Vessel photobombs half the shots now. Design wise it is the polar opposite of the Empire State. One is steel and limestone Art Deco built for permanence, the other a copper clad stair project that closed because nobody ran the human factors numbers. Materials and circulation studies matter more than catchy renderings. Classic outlasts gimmick.
