This video took a long time to put together, so if you enjoyed it, I’d really appreciate a like or a comment. It genuinely helps more than you think. Thanks for watching! 🙂
Japan is amazing !
Google Translate?
I heard the Jet2 song at 31:11
Isn't it kind of an etiquete to ask permission to film before entering a restaurant? Maybe not in Sweden.
you look like yammie noob, but younger and with hair
lol just use any ocr or google lens to identify text on images, you dont need chatgpt for that
I've never eaten Spaghetti with "shop-sticks" either, but many times with chopsticks 😛 Good video man, envious about the eel 🙂
When asking people on the street just say this:
Sumimasen, (Excuse me,)
(make sure to have their attention before continuing)
Kono atari de, doko no mise ga ichiban oishii desu ka?
(in the nearby area, which place is the most delicious?)
Show them your phone with maps showing current location for better chances of success!
If you want a more personal recommendation then say:
Anata no osusume onegaishimasu – Your recommendation please
And then to specify what kind of food add:
Nan demo tabemasu – I will eat anything
Nihon-shoku/Wa-shoku – Japanese typical food
Yo-shoku – Western-style food
Famiresu – family restaurant like Denny's, huge menu, large portions, mix of japanese and western style food
Omakase – chef's choice menu, often a sushi place, usually reservation-only
Kaiseki-ryori – Japanese traditional course menu restaurant, reservation usually required and can be very expensive
You can also just say things like "Italia-food, France-food, England-food" they will likely understand
And of course you can ask specifically for sushi, ramen, tsukemen, soba, udon etc. etc. even better if you show them the picture of what food you want
I am from New Orleans, loUiSiAna… so my value for locals is huge.
Whenever I get the chance to travel, I always ask locals where they eat… and if it's their Momma's House you got to ask if she'll set a couple extra plates.
Bro….are those girls short or u are 2m tall man….wth😂😂😂
@Robert_Berg , that looks like a truly great and wonderful experience! Dining in a unique restaurant located in one of the busy districts of Tokyo must be exciting and memorable. It’s always interesting to explore different kinds of food and restaurant concepts in such a vibrant city.
Take care on your travels, and I’m looking forward to watching more of your videos as you continue to visit other cities and countries. Keep sharing your amazing experiences and adventures with us! 🤗👍
(Arigatou gozaimasu. Douzo itsumo o-karada ni ki o tsukete kudasai.) 🇯🇵
I would not go to that eel place as thats hella overpriced.
ha bro made A Friend amazing.
30:15 wait a moment thats a Americko SoNgo!
1:38 I know you use Chat GPT to translate the photo but I recommendation using Google Lens it works pretty well for if you're looking for an item or if you need a translation for something in a foreign language all you have to do is set the setting to translate and point your camera to the foreign language and it translates it automatically after a few seconds or if you have a photo it can translate the photo for you easily
Nice Video Robert, I am going to japan with my family in june 2026. I want to try komagata maekawa. Appreciate it
unagi that expensive is usually fresh. Its def worth the price
@33:42 apple should take that and pay you for the advertisement
Great video, been a while since I saw such a refreshing Japan video
I wish you had asked the guy and his girlfriend who guided you for their recommendations! If you do this again I hope you ask which dish to order too!
You were so respectful and charming! I'm canadian, but you are an excellent example/representation for all tourists! Keep it up! 🙏💖
So polite, "Can I search?"
I would recommend learning the word for tasty, "umai"(casual), or the less casual form "Oishii"(polite)
14:30 the lady was referring to the asahi beer building. It is the one withe the yellow blob on top that kinda resembles a turd. Maybe its a horn. I had quite a fun time exploring the area. Across the bridge of said building there is a shop that sells wagyu sandwiches. I didnt like the sauce though. Noteworthy is that they only employ people with disabilities
30:19 I think that is Tonkatsu sauce. You put it on tonkatsu not the rice
maybe should have asked recommendation in Japanese too like osusume . they will understand immediately
japan is honestly such a vibe
love this place and its so cool to see places again after visiting
