Do Pilgrims need Holy Places | Camino Le Puy Part 2
Is this the BEST Camino de Santiago?
I’ve walked multiple Camino routes across Spain and Portugal — but this time I’m starting something different: the Camino Le Puy (Via Podiensis / GR65) in France.
In this video (Part 2 of my pilgrimage), I walk through some of the most beautiful trails I have ever seen – I also meet a 87 year old pilgrim.

Over the next 7 days, I’ll be walking sections of the Via Podiensis (GR65), reflecting on faith, pilgrimage, suffering, joy, and why this ancient path feels so different from the more crowded Caminos.
If you’re considering walking:
the Camino Le Puy (Via Podiensis / GR65)
The Camino Frances
The Camino del Norte
The Camino Primitivo
The Camino Portugues
or even the Camino Finisterre
…this series will help you decide which Camino is right for you.
This is not just a hiking vlog — it’s a pilgrimage.
Adventure, faith, honesty, and a few laughs along the way.

Here you’ll find Camino de Santiago vlogs, pilgrimage tips, hiking stories, and inspiration for living with faith and courage. I’ve walked the Camino Frances, Norte, Primitivo, Portuguese, and Finisterre, sometimes even carrying a surfboard to connect surf culture with spirituality.
Alongside this, I help plant surf-friendly churches worldwide and share resources like A Surfer’s Guide to Faith.

The best Camino!
Yes
have you every had a profound experience on the camino?
lets go, this is a wonderful day – so special
WOW what an awesome video! I love all your videos but this one particularly at the end was a fantastic message to all. It would be wonderful if everyone saw this. Well done❤
Yes! A book about Caminos ❤. I’ve been a subscriber since your first Camino Francês with the surfboard 🤣. You’re a beast walking the Km’s per day. Nasbinals to St Come d’Olt is epic. Please don’t ever apologize for your sense of humor. You keep it real. I thought the same about that phallic water trough! This Camino is a stunning evolution of increasingly beautiful fairytale villages and landscapes. Le Puy to Conques and the Basque Country are my favorite sections, but I ❤️ it all. Going to do some of it again this summer 🤣. Keep walking the walk, spreading the word and joy. Hopefully we will meet on a future Camino 😊
Another wonderful video. I hope that a part three is coming!
Your videos bring a smile to my face every time!
I'm looking forward to hike the next part of the Camino on my own this year. I'ld love to have some inspiring conversations with strangers along the way!
Great advice from Matt, and yes, you should write another book. 😊 Bon Chemin 🥾
YEs, write your next book. It will be lapped up for sure.
Every step on this Camino there is beautiful scenery, I saw very few pilgrims both times I walked Le Puy, now more people will want to walk this after watching this video, and why not….hope I am still looking for Camino’s to walk when I am his age, an inspiration 🙏
I‘d defintely read your book about the first camino. If it should be available as an audio, read by yourself, I’d luv to hear that, too. C‘mon, give it to the world, dude. 🥳
Yes, definitely a book on the Camino
