Coincidentally, I owned that exact same Peugot in green circa 1975, except mine was not equipped with fenders. Congratulations on a great job, and I can't believe that one day of riding in Spain when you completed 308km! 👍
Loved this ride! I also do mountain biking here in Germany — the trails are pure adventure, especially in the Bavarian Alps 🚵♂️❄️

I also want to do something like this on my old Peugeot bike. It ist from the 90s equipped with good Shimano Xtr parts, new wheels etc. but still a 35 year old bike.

Very nice video, I agree with the good things everyone said.
The video quality seems weird – maybe it's something with video rendering or whatever but at some points it seemed pretty bad and I had manually set the streaming quality to 1080, and verified it on two devices.
Second point – those points in the video where you show the little map and how many days have passed are very nice and help the viewer understand the timeline, I would use them more.

I watch these bike travel videos and can't believe how uncomfortably you guys set up your bicycles, especially for such extensive riding. I had this exact same Peugeot UO8 in college but converted it to a 15 speed right away by putting a triple crank set on it. Also I changed the rear cassette for closer gearing, swapped the Simplex (nylon) derailleurs for Shimano and put on some lightweight plastic fenders. If I still had it today I would put indexed derailleurs and STI handlebar shifters on it and get rid of those cumbersome bottom tube friction shifters. Vintage bikes are great but a little creative tooling with some modern upgraded components can make them much more comfortable, versatile, and safe. Why don't you guys do this? I don't get it.

dude did a Europe speedrun 😀 I think you need to switch to MTB bikepacking and take back country trails that are a bit more demanding that road.
40C degrees in Hungary, dull, flat, treeless for four days. If you can't self-cater with real food or have one wholesome meal daily your body will suffer. Don't depend on snacks and gas-station garbage. Cycle-touring in "strange" countries is character-building. Good for you mate (from NZ.) Hammocks require infrastructure requiring more maintenance than grass. The Swiss know this…😁
